How to Bring Home a Little Elf Magic…

I admit it. I’m one of those moms who totally get into the spirit of Christmas. We decorate like crazy – We have more decorations on the outside of the house than anyone in the whole neighborhood, and more decor inside the house than anyone I know. And I totally love traditions that remind me of all the magic the holiday held for me as a little girl – writing letters to Santa, filling stockings on Christmas eve, watching sappy old holiday movies as a family. And one new tradition we started last year that is definitely a keeper is to bring some Elf Magic to our lives during the month of December.

Elf Magic is the original – the first Elf tradition to be introduced and sold as a complete set. And what I like best is that unlike some of other elf traditions out there, that use other elf figures – Elf Magic really focuses on your child bonding with their Elf. In some other traditions the story is that the elf loses their magic if your child touches him, or that the elf is watching to report bad behavior to Santa. I love the way they put it…

What Does the Fox Say? – Holiday Ideas

Have you seen it yet – the What Does the Fox Say video from Ylvis? My nephews showed it to me a few weeks ago, before they headed off for school. I was half distracted trying to work, thought it was funny, and then sent them off to the bus. Little did I know – my life had just changed. This song has been stuck in my head ever since! And the more times I watch the video, the funnier it gets to me :) If you haven’t yet heard what all the fuss is about – let me show ya:

I love that the singer is so serious, while singing these ridiculous lyrics, in an over-the-top epic video. Flying guys in furry fox suits? Laser lights? What more can you ask for? This is now my little girl’s favorite song too – she was SO excited to see it performed in a choreographed dance routine on last night’s Dancing with the Stars finale. She jumped all over the bed singing and spinning. Which is why, when we had our early family Thanksgiving last weekend, I had to turn our pumpkin pie slices into fox faces…

Little Mermaid Party Ideas – Lots of Disney Princess Crafts and DIY!

I love Disney Princesses – I’m sure you’ve guessed that by now. I have a Pirates & Princess party board on Pinterest, that I used when planning Abby and her cousin’s birthday party this summer. I also have a Disney Fun board too, where I collect more princess ideas. We’ve had a Cinderella party, a Disney Princess birthday party, and we’re planning a fun princess tea party for one of these days when I get all of the little girls together. I love sharing sneak peeks at the new Disney movies – {did you see that they’re making a new live-action Cinderella movie? So excited!} And another thing I love is creating fun memories for Abby, like our recent The Little Mermaid crafting party.

How to Make Easy Peasy Monkey Cupcakes

These cupcakes were as fun as a barrel of monkeys… Well, that’s probably because they were a tray of monkeys, almost the same thing :) I threw a big double birthday party earlier this summer for the kiddos – my little girl turned 3, and we did a DIY Disney Princess party for her and the little girls, then I created a jungle-themed birthday party for the little boys. {Although of course there was lots of overlap – kids love everything.} I’m just finally getting a chance to show a few of the fun things we did for the jungle theme – so to start, I’ll show you how to make super easy peasy monkey cupcakes. They’re so simple and quick that you can you make them any time – parties, lunches, weeknight desserts – whatever!

The Secret to Creating Awesome Frozen Cocktails
