I admit it. I’m one of those moms who totally get into the spirit of Christmas. We decorate like crazy – We have more decorations on the outside of the house than anyone in the whole neighborhood, and more decor inside the house than anyone I know. And I totally love traditions that remind me of all the magic the holiday held for me as a little girl – writing letters to Santa, filling stockings on Christmas eve, watching sappy old holiday movies as a family. And one new tradition we started last year that is definitely a keeper is to bring some Elf Magic to our lives during the month of December.
Elf Magic is the original – the first Elf tradition to be introduced and sold as a complete set. And what I like best is that unlike some of other elf traditions out there, that use other elf figures – Elf Magic really focuses on your child bonding with their Elf. In some other traditions the story is that the elf loses their magic if your child touches him, or that the elf is watching to report bad behavior to Santa. I love the way they put it…
Elf Magic captures Christmas spirit you can hold in your hand and feel in your heart.
To remind you how it works – your kiddo writes a letter to Santa and asks if he can let the Elf come back to visit between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then, when you’re ready, your Elf arrives, and the tradition continues! Remember to sprinkle the magic North Pole Snowflakes on your Elf at night, so that he or she will come to life and enjoy fun Elfcapades® while your family sleeps. You can see more of the fun adventures other Elves have done here if you want fresh new ideas. {And see my elf in last year’s post here.}
So – Where’s my Elf?
I’m so sad to say that she hasn’t been able to make an appearance quite yet – I can’t find her!! Our little red-headed darling is missing. I have a whole Pinterest board of fun ideas for her to get into while Abby’s sleeping, and a big stock of little candies and toys for her to bring sometimes for the kids. {My nephews are here every day before and after school – and would rush in the door to see if our Elf had brought a surprise for them each day. Some days I’d have her draw a treasure map, or leave a scavenger hunt. Seriously, I love this stuff.} I have just a few more boxes in the garage to get down from the rafters and go through… But I ordered another Elf, just in case I can’t find ours. I’m really antsy to get the magic started again… But, I wanted to introduce you to this super fun tradition now, so you can order a fun new friend for your kiddos this holiday season right away!
Check out the full selection of Elf Magic friends on their website – and if you already have one from last year, be sure to check out the adorable new accessories they have for them this year too! They even have Hanukkah Helpers too, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, but would like to join the elf-y fun. And they’re super duper cute.
Stay tuned… As soon as our Elf is back {either being found in a holiday box, or arriving on our doorstep} – I’ll be sharing our daily “ELF-capades” on Instagram every day. If you’re a fan of the Elf Magic tradition too – I’d love to hear about it! Leave me some comments below about how you use them to bring magic to the month, tweet me some of your favorite pics, or post to my Facebook. I love, love, love hearing from you guys! Another idea that is super fun is to post your photos to the Elf Magic site too – fill out this form and share your favorite adventures!
