Earn Money by Surfing the Web

{This post contains affiliate links. All opinions are always my own.}

The economy is improving, but many of us are still on a tight budget. Maybe you’ve been laid off, or had your hours cut. Maybe you’re a stay at home mom who wants a way to earn extra money while still being home with the kids. Or maybe you just want some simple ways to earn extra cash in your free time. My post, 10 Ways to Make Money from Home is my most popular post ever, of all time – it’s been pinned over 280k times! So, I figured since frugal tips seem to be pretty popular with you guys, once a week I’ll share a new way to get free or super cheap stuff, or how to save money.

This week, I’m talking about earning with Neilsen. Neilsen is a huge company – They have a lot of different branches to what they do. But they’re main focus is on collecting opinions and data from people across the country, so that they can use that info to help companies develop products, marketing plans, and more. So they have programs that reward people for helping share those opinions. Think about it – years ago, brands had to spend big bucks to bring people together for in-person focus groups. Now, with everyone on the web, it’s easier than ever for tons of people to share their thoughts to help brands create the best products. And they pay you for it!

Do You Know How to Earn Free Money Using Your Phone?

This is a sponsored giveaway with Mums the Word Network and Jingit. All opinions are my own, as always. I only share stuff I seriously love.

Who loves free money? {Is everyone waving their hands in the air right now? I thought so :)} I know that I love finding cool new ways to earn extra free money from stuff I do anyway, or ways to earn money working from home. Sites like Ebates, MyPoints, and InBox Dollars give me awesome ways to earn money from what I do online – things like reading emails, surfing the web, or shopping. Because of those, sometimes I’ve wanted to avoid actually shopping in stores, because I’d be missing my awesome rewards and free cash back. But, I’ve recently fallen in love with an app that helps you earn free cash when you shop at your local stores too. So cool. Check it out….

DIY Pencil or Marker Holder

This post to share cool new ways to use Palmolive is sponsored by Lunchbox. All opinions are my own. As always :) #PalmoliveWM

I love being crafty. I love being frugal. I love when I can be frugally crafty. Which is why, ever since I was a kid, I’ve been a big fan of “junk crafting” – taking things you would normally just throw away, and creating something nifty with them. Which also explains why I can’t throw away a jar to save my life. I’m a jar-aholic. True story. But seriously… Think about our grandparents. My grandma lived by the saying, “Use it upwear it out, make it do, or do without.” You didn’t just buy new pants every season – you patched up last seasons. Let out the hem to make them longer. Or hemmed them shorter to hand down to the next kid. You know? So, in that spirit, I have a fun little DIY project for ya today. Super simple, perfect for back to school, and will cost you almost nothing. Perfect, right? :)

How to Grow a Frugal Lifestyle – #GroSomethingGreater

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of my favorite quotes is, “Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.” We grew up without much money, so making the most of what we had was extra important. I learned my frugal, DIY, upcycling skills from my momma – and even today, when I have a much bigger income than I ever had when I was younger, I’m still always looking for ways to make my resources go farther.

Are You Throwing Money Away When Shopping Online?

You know that I’m a frugal momma, right? That was one of the reasons that I started this site – to share some of the cool tips and tricks I had learned. Long story short – a month after becoming a new mom, I lost my job, including the other two months of paid maternity leave I was expecting. There was a glitch with unemployment, and it took months before they figured it out and accepted my claim. I was a full-time student, overwhelmed mom of an infant, in a really bad economy. First was panic – then I got resourceful! I started looking at all of the ways I could cut expenses, and took out things like restaurant meals, coffee shop drinks, and vacations. Little by little I learned to coupon, build a frugal pantry, and started to live by the phrase, “Use It Up, Wear It Out, Make It Do, or Do Without.” But cutting expenses isn’t always enough, right?

How to get free cash back online

I also needed to find ways to earn more income, while staying at home with Abby. I shared a lot of my tips here: 10 Ways to Earn Money from Home, which is my most popular post on this site, of all time, ever. And since that post has been so popular, I’m guessing that there are a lot of moms out there like me, trying to bring in extra money to boost a slim budget. Even now that I’ve built my business well, I still follow all of my frugal habits – there’s no reason to throw money away! So, today is the first in a series, showing you some new ways to earn more money right from your own home too. [Read more…]

10+ Weekend Frugal Finds for Busy Moms

I love free stuff. That’s actually how this blog started out… When I found out that I was pregnant, I started looking for tips on stretching my budget farther, which led me to the world of super smart blogs written by super clever moms. I learned that there were tons of ways to earn money from home, shop online for free, and get free stuff. Between requesting samples of cool new products and winning a lot of fun giveaways, checking my mailbox started to feel like Christmas every day!

When I lost my job right after having Abby, I decided that I’d share some of the cool tips that I’d learned – in addition to the freebies, I’d also become a master at the whole, “Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without” type of lifestyle. We grow our own fruits and veggies, do a lot of canning and freezing, clip coupons, and love DIY. So I started Sunshine and Sippy Cups as a way to share all of that fun stuff! So I’ve decided that on the weekends, as I go through my emails and find cool free stuff and frugal ideas, I’ll share my favorites in a list with you ladies too. Welcome to the first edition of Frugal Finds for Busy Moms :)
