Making Kids’ Healthy Lunches Awesome

I’m excited to share the new premium line of lunchmeat from Hillshire Farm with you – I was compensated for sharing this info with you – but it’s all 100% my opinion, as always! #HillshireNaturals

As a mom, there are SO many tasks to juggle every day. And the start of a new school year always brings even more challenges – adjusting to new school schedules, finding time for all of the fall sports and activities, starting to think about the upcoming holiday season, and on and on. I’m sure that by now you’re starting to settle into new routines – but I know one thing I hear a lot from you guys is coming up with ways to pack healthy lunches your kids will really eat, that are affordable too. Well – I’ve got a couple of fun tips today to help you with that!

Under the Sea Lunch Idea

I’m always looking for easy, frugal, and FUN ways to help the kiddos eat healthier. And, actually eat – you know what I mean? It’s hard enough staying on a budget. It’s worse when the kids don’t like what you serve, and you end up throwing things away. So, I decided to take a few minutes each day – honestly, it only takes a few more minutes prep to make fun lunches, I promise! – to create meals that entertain the kids enough to actually eat…..

How to Make Super Awesome Kid’s Lunches

Thank you to Mott’s® for sponsoring this article. Grab goodness on-the-go with Mott’s®.

“One thing I had learned from watching chimpanzees with their infants is that having a child should be fun.” – Jane Goodall  One of the main reasons that I wanted to be a work at home mom was that I wanted to be here to spend time with Abby every day. {You can read my story of how I got started here, on Start-Up Nation.} Then about a year ago I realized that I was spending way too much time working, and not enough time being a mom. I caught myself saying things like, “Not now,” or “in a little bit, mommy’s working” – way too often. So, I made a point to take afternoons off, and have that be “Me & Abby” time.

Fun Ideas for Monsters Inc or Monsters U party!

As a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community, I’m super excited that they trusted me to share some sweet info about the new Monsters University themed toys and gear available at Walmart.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

Monsters University just hit U.S. theaters nearly 12 years after the original “Monsters, Inc.” theatrical debut… Have you seen it yet? I am craaaazy-excited to take the kids to see Monsters U this week! We are such big fans of the original Monsters Inc. movie – {I sometimes have a hard time finding cartoons with a really good message to them, but this one rocks} – so obviously as soon as I heard the news that there would be a new Monsters movie I was stoked. Then I read the review of Monsters University from Sippy Cup Mom, and got even more excited.

For 7 days, I’ll be celebrating my family’s love of all things waffle by working with Eggo to put together a week’s worth of “out of the box” style recipes, to celebrate the Great Eggo Waffle Off contest {see details below}. We created a couple of other fun kid’s snacks with Eggo waffles this week, check out the Waffle Ice Cream Sundae Breakfast, and my fave – Angry Birds Waffles. {Those were a HUGE hit with the boys!} Today I have one more fun treat – Viking Waffle Helmets. These crack me up!
