Tell a Friend that She Rocks…

teleflora flowers

“I’d rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck.”  – Emma Goldman

Valentine’s Day has come and gone… and every girl wanted to get a great big bouquet of pretty Valentine flowers, right? Candy is great, but fattening. Jewelry is beautiful, but hard to shop for. A giant stuffed teddy bear is only a good choice if you’re incredibly handsome and you just started dating someone – and have the charm to pull off a cheesy gift. But every girl loves getting flowers, and they’re always even more special when they are a surprise delivery. I’ve only had flowers delivered less than a handful of times – but every one made me feel amazingly happy. It’s like a little delivery of sunshine into your day.

“Flowers don’t worry about how they’re going to bloom.  They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful.” – Jim Carrey

So if you have any special ladies in your life that you forgot to get a gift for on Valentine’s Day, or if you know of a totally awesome gal friend who didn’t have a sweetheart, and had a bummed out day – why not send a better-late-than-never flower delivery her way? You’ll brighter her whole afternoon, put a big smile on her face, and guarantee your best-friend status for life. So, whether you’re sending out some belated flowers for a missed gift, or just to tell your bestie that you think she totally rocks – flowers are always the perfect gift, and they always fit. Love it, right?

The Danger Lurking at Target….

Source: jennifermariemiller.tumblr.com via Sunshine and on Pinterest

Anyone else relate?

Do you find Target stores hard to resist? Ever walk out with no idea how your cart got filled with $100+ of pretty things? You’re not alone….

Oh Target, how I love thee. Trendy fashions for home and family, at prices affordable for middle class mommas on a budget. You bring designer lines to the masses, offer perfectly modern home decor that’s not over the top, and the cutest stinkin’ baby clothes around. {Have you seen them? Seriously.} And I know it’s not just me…. There’s a whole website devoted to them  – SlaveToTarget.com. Because truly, we are ALL slaves to Target. They even have their own nickname -“Tar-zhay” – how many stores have their own nickname? Only ones you spend so much time with….

The safest way to shop at Target – and it’s still dangerous, don’t get me wrong – is to shop online. It’s easier to stay focused. The mysteriously hypnotizing Target eye won’t be as easily able to trick you into those new curtains… and matching throw rugs… and cute boots… and did you see those pretty new drinking glasses? No – online you’ll have a chance to get in, and out, with only what you truly need. Be strong.

Share your Target Story in the comments. I know you have one. We all do….

Facebook, Please. I’m Trying to Work!

Does this ever happen to you?

Having a job where you work online, at home where no boss can come sneak in and catch you goofing off, is not as easy as you might think. The internet is a tough place to work… There are so many distractions.  Oooh, a funny cartoon – gotta re-post it to Facebook! Super controversial article – Totally gotta go share it in my blogging group and see what they think of it! Awww, look at that sweet pic of baby kittens – clearly I have to give it a thumbs up on StumbleUpon. Maybe I’ll just hit the stumble button a couple of times too….

Suddenly, it’s 3 hours later, and I still have a pile of work to do.

And that’s why bloggers have messy homes. That’s why it is extremely difficult for us to be productive. The internet is just so full of shiny things, it’s hard to stay focused. I mean heck – How can I get any work done when there are so many pictures of Ryan Reynolds without a shirt on Pinterest??

I mean, seriously.

Free Lorax Valentine’s Printables!

Valentine's Day Printables, Lorax, Dr. Seuss

Free Valentine’s Day Printables for Kids

Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss, right? So many of my favorite books as a little girl were Dr. Seuss books…. My very favorite ever was There’s a Wocket in My Pocket! – There’s a line at the very end, “That’s the kind of house I live in, and I hope I never leave it!” – I have a big blended household of extended family living with me right now, and things get pretty crazy living with so many people, so I say this all the time, lol. I’m also really excited to see the brand new movie, The Lorax! Did you catch the cute clip during the Superbowl?

Get Free Lorax Printables for Valentine’s Day!

Head on over to the Lorax Blog to print out bunches of fun Lorax themed printables for Valentine’s Day – The kids can use them to make their own cards to hand out at school, and you can check out more fun clips from the movie too! Even bigger kids are going to get excited about this movie – It stars little mister heart throb Zac Efron, and everyone’s favorite girl-next-door, Taylor Swift. It also features one of my favorite funny ladies – Betty White!

You can find The Lorax on Facebook and Twitter – And learn some great “green” tips for your family on the Lorax website too!

{Disclosure: No compensation of any type was received for this. I am excited to see the movie, and know you’ll love it too! Happy Valentine’s Day!}

“Oh Internet” – A Love Song #humor

My Drunk Kitchen

Hannah from My Drunk Kitchen is THE. FUNNIEST. PERSON. Seriously – She totally cracks me up. I found her videos of cooking while intoxicated last summer, and have been hooked ever since. {You might remember her from the holiday Gingerbread video I posted around Christmas time} She is just totally charming….

Anti-SOPA Song

She says that this song started as an anti-SOPA song – {remember that totally sleazy bill from a month ago?} – But then turned into a love song devoted to the beauty that is our internet. I figured with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s a perfect time to share this video. I mean heck – I could write a love song to the internets too…. I spend more time there than with my own friends and family, and would be lost with out it.

Oh Internet, how I love thee, let me count the ways…..

Ok, so maybe I can’t write my own song. Not today at least. My creativity level is on low – I’ve got a sick little guy, a crabby as all heck toddler, and a ridiculous messy house. You’ll have to settle for Hannah’s version in the video above – But if you’ve got a great love poem to the internet, leave me a comment below. My favorite will get a $5 Amazon gift card……

Find My Drunk Kitchen on Facebook, and watch more great videos on her YouTube channel.
