Smart Solutions for Busy Moms!
I love number 5 – my little girl is at that stage right now. Not sure where this came from originally, but I found it today on Text Funny Pictures on Facebook. Feel free to share this around – It’s too funny not to, right?
When I found out that I’d been picked by MomSelect to host a MommyParties Crest and Oral-B Pro Health for ME Party, I was super excited. When I found out that it included the new Cars 2 – my excitement level doubled! I had an eye appointment at Costco a few weeks before that, and Abby got to watch about 20 minutes of Cars 2 on the big screen TV’s with Daddy while they waited for me – ever since, when she sees a commercial or a product in the store featuring the characters, she says, “Vrrrrrooooommmmmmm – Cars! Cars momma? Vroooommmmm….” She’s hooked. And, Abby loves brushing her teeth. LOVES. She steals everyone’s toothbrushes out of the bathroom, and walks around brushing her “teef” all the time. So – new “toof”-brushes + Cars 2 + friends over? Yep, that equals a happy little girl!
Here’s a little peek inside the awesome goodie bags that each child received when they arrived at the party – new toothbrushes, rinse, coupons, flossers, and more! These kiddo’s were super excited to see their goodies – and they all had to compare toothbrushes, and do a little trading, until they all had the perfect one. So cute.
The kids thought that these were hilarious – we added a set of fake super-yucky teeth to the floss picks, to show the kids why it’s so important to brush and floss every day. The boys put them in their mouths and tried to scare the girls with their gross smiles – but the girls just chased them around with their toothbrushes to try and clean them up! It was a mad house, but we had sooo much fun.
This little guy didn’t have that many teeth left to brush – lol – but was still excited to show us his new toothpaste! He said he will use it every night to keep the “sugar bugs” away, and make sure his new teeth are shiny and white when they grow back. Smart boy, right?
And of course, no movie party is complete without popcorn! We had it all set up before the kids got there – and since we have an old-fashioned popper, they all wanted to gather around while we popped it. And a BIG thank you to Mommy Parties for sending these super fun popcorn boxes – I’m going to have to find some to purchase for our next play date – the kids thought these were the neatest thing. We ended up with a huge mess, and lots of tired kids – but this party was a total success, and everyone went home incredibly happy.
Abby loved the Cars 2 movie, and still watches it at least a couple of times each week! All of the kids had a blast, and the moms are still thanking me for getting them excited about brushing and flossing – which is so great to hear. In our house we use printable brushing charts, so I had printed some to hand out too. Since all of the other parents wanted more, I figured I’d share the link with you guys too – Printable Tooth Brushing Charts for Kids. And visit me on Facebook to check out more pictures too!
Next time you’re shopping, make sure to watch for these great new Oral-B Stages products for kids, and the very cool new Crest Pro-Health FOR ME line of products, including toothpaste and rinse. Keep your families smiles bright!

We had never used Mega Bloks until just recently – But now that we’ve tried out a couple of sets, I’m a huge fan! I don’t know why I didn’t pick up a set earlier, since we’re such big fans of building, creating, and imaginative play in our house. Our first time checking them out was during our Thomas & Friends Party – and after trying them I realized that we’ve totally been missing out. There are sets for every age and skill level, the quality is great, and the kids totally get lost in imaginary worlds while they play… I loved listening to the boys talk about saving Abby’s dolly, and how “Police men can save the whole world sometimes…” Love these kids.
Look at the fun details on this Mega Bloks Blok Squad Police Force – I love the little license plates. The steering wheel really moves, the trailer can actually hitch on and off of the car in the back, and the police man all have fun accessories, to make play time more realistic. The packaging for this play set says for ages 5 and up – Well, if you’re talking about safety, or the finished toy, then yes – it’s great for a 5 year old. But if we’re discussing ease of building, then this is definitely meant for a bigger kid. I helped our 8 year old put this together – and while it was super fun, it was a bit of a challenge! There are a TON of pieces included in this box, and it would be way too overwhelming for a 5 year old to manage it all by themselves. But if they have a little help – once it’s put together, it’s perfect for even the tiniest hands! My 17 month old smacked these around on the tile floor – a lot, lol – but they held together really well. All of the kids had a blast with them!

We love creative stuff here at our house… We like to paint, and color, and build, and create. But when we’re in the mood for some molding fun, I usually mix up our own homemade play dough – The Best Homemade Play-Dough Recipe. The kids had asked for Moon Dough, but honestly, I figured, “how much different could it be then the stuff we make now?” So when Team Mom asked if I wanted to review the new Moon Dough Ocean Pals, to try out the new and improved Moon Dough formula, I figured we’d give it a shot.
The Moon Dough Ocean Pals set arrived, and the kids were SUPER excited to rip it open! I made them slow it down, so I could check this out too. The Play Set comes with a bunch of cool stuff:
I laid out all of the great goodies that were included in this fun package, and opened up the first package of Moon Dough to try it out. What at first feels like a piece of smooth Styrofoam quickly turns to a squishy marshmallow-like texture in your hands. I really can’t hardly describe it, but it’s super cool! I’m pretty proud of our awesome homemade dough, but this stuff is so different – Even the teenagers at our house were impressed! The tools included in the set are simple, but perfectly made – the kids were able to easily make really cool shapes, and had a blast with this set!
Moon Dough is hypo-allergenic, and wheat-free, making it a great option for any family with allergies. I was skeptical of the whole “never drys out” claim, but so far so good! The kids have left the lid off of plastic container we store it in for days at a time, and it’s just as good as new. So – I started out really skeptical, but the Moon Dough sets have totally won me over – I even bought another one for the kiddo’s for Christmas. The best part? It’s super easy to clean up too!

Have you ever seen My Drunk Kitchen? Ohmyheck – my favorite videos, ever. I’ve heard that not everyone thinks these are funny – but I don’t know what’s wrong with those people :) You can find more of her videos on YouTube, or follow her on Facebook for random daily laughs too.
My favorite line comes at the very end…. “Why can’t the graham crackers support themselves?? – Wait, did I just sound like the 1%?” I love this girl.
One of my goals for the new year is to start doing video reviews. And while my videos might not be quite as entertaining {or intoxicated} as hers are – I hope they’ll be pretty darn fun. So – feel free to subscribe to my mostly-empty YouTube channel now, so you’ll be the first to know when I actually get super-duper-amazingly fun and informative videos posted. Watch for them to start mid January.
If you’ve got any suggestions for products, sites, or services you’d like to see reviewed first – leave me some comments – I love hearing from you guys. And if you’re a fan of My Drunk Kitchen too – tell me which one is YOUR favorite video!
