$15 + Holiday Weekend Photos = Amazing Art!

This is my print from Canvas People…

And I love it. I get SO many compliments when people come over, wondering where I got it. So, if you’ve got some great new family photos from the holiday weekend, this is a great way to save them and share them!

How it Works:

  • You pick your photo, then head over to Canvas People.
  • Then choose your size. Right now you get an 8×10 for FREE, and pay ONLY the $14.95 for shipping this large print. Or you can use a $50 credit towards a bigger size.
  • Choose a frame, or leave it Gallery Wrapped, which is what I did. This means that the canvas wraps around the side of the image and is secured to the back of a frame. The image wraps around the sides to make a lovely presentation. It looks really cool.
  • Next, choose your effects. You can add tons of stuff, to make the print into a cool piece of art.
  • Then your Canvas is sprayed for protection. They coat all canvas prints with an environmentally-friendly protective coating. This coating will help protect your canvas from moisture, humidity, abrasions, fingerprints, and more. Plus, it gives a really nice finish.

Canvas People

Some Creative Ideas:

  • We had just moved into a larger office & were in the process of redecorating. Instead of the usual company plaques to hang on the walls, we decided to display our logos on bright, modern canvases. They look so professional & other companies in our building have been asking where they can get their logos on canvas too! Rosie- New York.
  • My granddaughter is such a creative 10-year-old. She made a beautiful painting while I was visiting recently. She wanted me to keep it, but I didn’t want to ruin it by packing it up in my suitcase. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later, her mom had taken a photo of the painting, ordered a canvas of it & sent it to me as a gift! Helene- Texas.
  • Anybody thinking twice about turning their photo into POP art – have no fear. When I say my daughter “flipped” when she saw it, I’m not exaggerating. She shows it to her friends like she’s a movie star! It’s in her bedroom now and she just loves it. Mike- Florida.

Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed with your purchase here. We were a little worried, thinking the quality might not be that great, but figured for less than $15, it should still be worth it. I was surprised to see that they had such great materials and workmanship… And they even touched up a couple of minor flaws in the photo, without us asking or paying extra!

{Giveaway} Win a FREE Photo Book from Mixbook!

It’s official, I love Mixbook!

I am a huge fan of any type of personalized product using photos… I love calendars customized with fun family photos, I think that creating personalized holiday cards with pic’s in so much better than buying one in a store, and I think that photo books make the most {AMAZING} keepsakes.

Kind of a photo book pro…

I’ve used Snapfish and Shutterfly for most of my photo books, and they’re both pretty similar, and I’ve been really happy with both. When Mixbook approached me and offered me a chance to try out their site to make a new photo book, I assumed it would be pretty similar. Wow, was I wrong!

Mixbook ROCKS my SOCKS

Mixbook is {SUPER DUPER} cool. There are SO many more ways to customize your pages than either Snapfish or Shutterfly. You pick a Theme, and then upload your photos. But the pages and designs that they have are so creative and fun, and you can change background colors, lay-outs, and more. But the really cool part is that you can add custom stickers and embellishments to each page too! This allows you to get a really creative and unique look to each page, and I LOVE it.

Simple for Beginners, Advanced enough for Pro’s

The whole process of putting together a photo book is super simple. Even if you’ve never done it before. Even if you have VERY little computer knowledge. They have a quick video you can watch that’ll teach you the basics, and it’s really just point and click type of stuff. I promise, ANYONE can put together a basic photo book, and get a really great finished product with very little work. Easy peasy.

Want to try Mixbook for yourself? Well, those generous folks over there are giving all of my readers 20% off of their whole order! Use code SIPPY20 at check out to save!

If you are a more advanced user, and want to spend some extra time, then you will LOVE the extra tools and features available here. This is now seriously my favorite place to make photo books. Using the stickers to make each page my own was really fun. I’m almost done with my book, and I’m LOVIN’ it.

{VERY limited time deal!} The Economist

The Economist

Save a TON of The Economist!

It might surprise you, but I follow a lot of politics and current events. So many people seem pretty uninterested in that stuff, but I’m very interested in whats going on in the world, even if I’m not always sure what I can do about it all.

*******

One of my favorites

The Economist is one of my favorites news magazines. I also love U.S. News and World Report, Time, and The Atlantic. UTNE is a great one too, for a bit of more alternative views that you probably haven’t heard before.

Right now {for a limited time} you can get The Economist for only $12 {!!!!} for 12 issues. That’s a buck an issue, and seriously, a really amazing deal. So I thought I’d share.

*******

Not a newsy type?

This would make a really great gift subscription too, if you’re not interested in this type of mag. It really is great quality writing, and pretty balanced in content. Check it out!

The best way to shop, for all us procrastinators

shopping, procrastination

Check out this weeks Twirl…

Gah! Who hasn’t been there? The baby shower that snuck up on you. The birthday party present you forgot to buy for the party that’s this afternoon? Or even the special crafts paints that you need to bring in for school tomorrow. So much to buy, so little time. What you need is Milo.com. A dog (well technically a website) that is part Bloodhound when it comes to sniffing out exactly what you need and part Pointer, as in it will point you to a local store that definitely has that specific item in stock. And we’re talking retailers like Target, Best Buy, Nordstrom, Toys ‘R Us, and Crate & Barrel… not too shabby, huh?

Then all you have to do is fetch!

While online shopping is the domain of bargain hunters and planners, Milo is the perfect solution for us folks who are willing to trade all that for convenience and instant gratification. Watch this week’s Twirl to find out how Carley avoids a near Baby Shower debacle in light of the fact that she also has about a bazillion other things to do.

Sound familiar?

I’m definitely a HUGE fan of online shopping. I love that it’s easy, I love being able to search for the best price, and I love that shopping online earns me great rewards, {you know, by using sites like Ebates, Inbox Dollars, or MyPoints to earn rebates. You ARE using them right??} But, there are times that I’m just like Carley in this video, and totally need something NOW.

Milo is a total Busy Mom Solution!

You know that I’m all about finding smart solutions to solve busy-mom challenges – and I can see how using Milo.com could be SUCH a time and sanity saver. I can definitely relate to the video example, but there have also been times that I have found the PERFECT thing online, and would LOVE to know if it was available somewhere near-by so I could have that instant gratification, you know? Like, when I see the ab-so-lutely perfect dress online, and realize that I MUST have it for a party coming up in a couple of days. Now that I’ve seen it, nothing else will do. It MUST be that dress. Using Milo.com, I could find it locally and go pick it up, easy peasy! Love that.

So, check it out the next time you find yourself in a sticky spot and need something right now, today, this minute! Milo is such a good dog…. :)
