A Trip Through Oz – Cosmetics, Casinos, and Bubbles!

“Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly….” – Am I the only one who can’t even just read those words – I sing them in my head. The Wizard of Oz was one of my absolute favorite movies as a little girl – and it’s still, to this day, one of my all time most loved films. I’ve watched it so many times, I practically have it memorized. I read the books growing up too – {The Emerald City of Oz was my favorite.} And I love that my little girl is now a fan of the movie too! So of course, you know that I am crazy-excited for the new imagining of Oz to come out. I’ve been dying waiting for this, for months now. Which is why I get even more excited each time they release a new clip of the movie! Check out this newest one…

Why Women Aren’t Good With Money…

Wooo boy! Did you click through to this post, just because you read that headline, and wanted to prove me wrong? Well – I hope you can. Because I consider myself to be very good with money – I’m a frugal mom, grew up in poverty, and learned a lot of creative ways to stretch a dollar from my own mom. But still – studies have been showing lately that while many women are great at making those dollars in the family budget go farther by doing things like clipping coupons, searching for deals, and doing DIY projects – women are seldom as skilled at handling their financial life when it comes to “big picture” stuff like retirement, investments, or college savings. Which means – I definitely don’t think that all women are bad with money, that women can’t be good with money, or that we’re somehow not smart enough to handle it all. But I do think it’s an area where most women can use some new info, some extra help, and some tips to make them more independent. So ladies – let’s chat.

Outdoor Living is a Lifestyle…. #GrillingisHappiness

“A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.” – James Dent…. For some of you, it might be hard to believe… But summer isn’t all that far away. I mean, I know we haven’t even officially hit spring yet, but here in Central Washington, we’ve got buckets of sunshine lately, and are already out grilling  steaks on the deck for dinner some nights. {Ok, I admit it – we grill in parkas in the snow too. We love to grill. Lol.} And – I’m just all about outdoor living. We were super lucky to move into a new house two years ago, that has a big in-ground pool, a ginormous shop for storage, and Mike’s vinyl business, and a big property. It all still needs a lot of love, but it’s a wonderful work in progress!

All Things Baby – And How to SAVE On Them All Too!

Save big on all things baby… Ok, you probably know that I’m a frugal type. I’ve always been careful with my money, always searched out the best deals, always invented new ways to stretch my dollars further. This comes from growing up poor… {Like, real poor. Like, family that the church sponsored one year at Christmas.} I watched my mom use our very meager resources in creative ways, always making sure that life was still fun and full – even on a low budget. That background has helped me in so many ways as an adult, and I’m so grateful for it. I never could have made it as a new mom without those frugal skills….
