It’s that time of year again… The time to head to your closest Red Lobster restaurant and dine on your fave lobster entrées from their amazing menu. This is the 30th anniversary of Lobsterfest, which means they must be doing something right if it’s been popular for this long, right? Want to know what you’ll find during this amazing fest?
Did you know that 500,000 times each year, a child gets into medicine that they shouldn’t, or gets the wrong dose to their medicine? How scary is that, right? We all know that there are some basic precautions to take, like keeping medicines up high, or in a locked cabinet. But there are SO many scenarios you might not expect, and so much information that can really help. I know from experience that even as an uber careful mom who worries over everything, things can still go wrong. Want to stop wasting money on cell phone service?… We all love our smartphones. I couldn’t LIVE without my new Windows phone – I use it to make lists, build my calendar, give the kids games to play while waiting in line at the grocery store, keep up with friends, check email – almost every part of my day is connected to that phone. And, one of my favorite things about my Windows phone is the way that I can personalize and customize it EXACTLY the way I want it. So it makes sense that I would want a cell phone service that lets me do the same thing, right? I don’t want to pay for extra services that I don’t need – what a waste!
Do you ever catch yourself saying things that totally make you feel old? Things like – “When I was a kid, we had an Atari and that was it!” – in response to the kids asking for the latest gaming console. Or, “A cell phone at 7? Did you know that when I was in high school we didn’t even have cell phones? We had pagers??” What’s a pager, Auntie Meagan? “Well, you’d use a payphone to page someone and enter the number where you were at and…” – Um, what’s a pay phone Auntie Meagan? Yep, times they are a’ changin’. {Sigh.} Now, even toddlers know how to use things like apps and tablets. I love family movie night. In our family, it’s me, the Mister, and my little girl who will be three in July. A toddler makes a family night out a little more challenging… She wants to climb over the table and dump the salt shaker onto the heads of the customers at the next table if we go to a restaurant. She has a hard time staying quiet or in one place in a big movie theater. She loves to dance – but I don’t think a nightclub is quite our style, lol. So, making special movie nights at home is one of our regular weekend rituals!
