Mega Bloks First Builders party time… You know how much I love to entertain, right? From summer pool parties to holiday dinners – and all of the playdates, game nights, and impromptu get-togethers in between – Having our house full of friends and family is what makes me happy. And – I loooove when I get a chance to host a great event like this one from Mom Select, where I get to share great new gear with Abby’s friends – We recently had the opportunity to have a Mega Bloks First Builders playdate party, and the kiddos had a blast! Take a peek, and check out some of cool new toys for toddlers from Mega Bloks that are fun, and teach great building, spelling, and motor skills…
Mega Bloks Tin Tuff Race Chase Rig
I am such a fan of the Mega Bloks First Builders line. Some of our favorites you might remember me posting about before are the 3-Story Enchanted Castle playset, and the super cute Steer-Me-Steve dump truck {yes, little girls love dump trucks too!} All of the sets are sturdy enough to hold up to the, um… “enthusiasm” of a toddlers playtime. We’ve yet to have any of our Mega Bloks sets break after months of play. Love that. And the pieces are just the right size for little toddler hands, leading to frustration-free playing – which as you know when you’ve got a little one, is incredibly important if you want to get anything else done that day, lol. And these new sets did not disappoint – this is the Mega Bloks Tin Tuff Race Chase Rig. Kids load the cars {it includes a couple, and you can buy more} onto the top of the rig, and drive it around – then when they lift that handle up, it converts the top to a ramp, and sends the cars zooming down to race, super fun. They can also open up the back of the rig instead, and fill it with cars, trailer style, to haul around the house. This was a raffle prize – but we let the kiddos all play with it after the lucky winner was drawn. Sharing new toys – now that is priceless.
Party time with Mega Bloks
Even the little girls loved playing with the Race n’ Chase Rig – they loaded him up with some of Abby’s pink race cars. Another favorite from the party was the Play n’ Go Pink Wagon – I wish I’d gotten better pics to show you, but our living room where the kids were playing is pretty dark. But this little wagon is so much fun, seriously. It has a little building plate that sits over the edges of the wagon, to make a platform to build on with all of the included blocks {see it online to get a better view of it} so that kids can build and play, then put the pieces back into the wagon and stroll to another place in the house with it. Very fun idea. And… the kids quickly realized that the littlest ones could fit sitting IN the wagon, so that the bigger kids could pull them around. Cracked me up!
Little Builders ABC Blocks
Each of the kiddos that came over to play – yep, all 10 of them! – got to take home one of these fun ABC Spell Blocks sets. The blocks come blank, and kids {with mommy’s help} can add fun letter and and shape stickers to them. Then you can stack them together to build words, which is a super fun way to start teaching reading and spelling skills. Abby loves to work with me to put them in alphabet order. Plus they come in a really sturdy little zip-up carrier bag, making it easy to tote them around. And these are the basic shaped blocks, {100 letters in all, for only $9.99} so they can mix and match with other Mega Bloks building sets too.
Impromptu Toddler Dance Party
The kids were having SO much fun at the party, that after hauling the little ones into the Master Bedroom in the wagon, they broke out into a sudden dance party when I turned on Abby’s favorite songs – Hoopla Kidz. They’re a set of nursery rhyme videos on YouTube that Abby absolutely adores, and obviously the other kids did too, lol. Suddenly I was surrounded by bouncing kids! I guess that’s what happens when I make too many cupcakes for a party…..

{Disclaimer: I received a complimentary Mommy Parties Mega Bloks party pack so that I could share these great new toys with our friends and family, as part of a promotional program with Mom Select. All photos and opinions are 100% my own.}
How much fun! I especially loved the ABC Spell Block Sets – it’s great that even putting the letters on the blocks is part of the fun. Whoever thought of that should get the Christmas bonus xtra award. I need those for my son – that would be a great help in his reading development. The price is also great. I love Megabloks for the size and ease of use!
