Styling a Swingy Tunic Top for Spring

Spring isn’t totally here yet, but it’s peeking around the corner. We’re still having more rain than shine here in the PNW, but we’re finally seeing some sunshine here and there! Which totally puts me in the mood to freshen up my wardrobe. I do tend to wear mostly black, white, grey, and very dark grey. But as spring arrives, I like lighter fabrics, swingy layers, bright accessories. Something about spring just makes you want to be pretty, doesn’t it?

This week’s Fashion Friday story from Cents of Style is all about the swingy spring tunics! They have two styles available, both on sale, both total must-haves right now. Just like every other piece I love from Cents of Style, these are made to fit every single body type – they come in sizes 0-18, lots of pretty colors, and you can choose from a babydoll or keyhole style in this sale. Or both, that’s what I would do :)

I have the Hannah Keyhole style tunic, in a really soft, creamy, ivory color. It’s just thick and substantial enough to give you good coverage, without being heavy. It’s nice and long, fitted up top but loose to hide any problem areas as it skims your hips. And it’s swingy! Did I mention how much I love the swingy-ness? It makes me smile when I wear it, which is the most important part of fashion – it should be fun and make you happy!

It’s also super versatile: Dress it up for a date night with skinny jeans, heels or wedges, a cute clutch and sparkly accessories – perfect for date night or time with the girls! It’s also perfect for looking pulled together at more casual weekend events, like the kiddo’s sports games. Toss it on over a pair of boyfriend jeans, comfy shoes, a cute hat, and you’re looking AND feeling good. Or, wear it to work or a brunch with friends. Just layer a bright tank underneath {so it can give a peek of contrasting color when it swings about a bit!} add a light cardi and fun sandals or flats – perfectly pretty.

Speaking of flats…. Cents of Style has a rockin’ selection of spring styles in footwear too. Perfect for pretty much any outfit, any occasion, and to fit anyone’s style.

  1. I like to wear the same colors you do, but I do have some navy tops and a few bring pastels. I really need to add to my spring wardrobe. One new item I have is a spring scarf and it has really brightened up my white tops – it’s green and white and so, so cute. Thanks for the tips on wearing a swingy tunic top.

I am SUCH a scarf junkie. Since so much of my wardrobe is basics, they make a big difference in making an outfit look fresh and new, and making things match the season. A dark grey dress and black cardi are a COMPLETELY different outfit with accessories: tights and boots, chunky scarf and coat in winter. Strappy sandals, bright earrings, and a colorful printed lightweight scarf in summer. :)
