Is Motherhood Like a Fairytale…?

“You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance.” – Franklin P. Jones… I have a story to share. It goes a little something like this – Once upon a time, there was a young woman, who lived alone. Just her, and a stray cat that decided to move in with her. She wore trendy clothes and accessories, she was 10 {ok, maybe 20…} pounds thinner, she wore heels and makeup, and had time to not just sort-of brush her hair, but also curl it – on a daily basis. Her home was amazingly organized {she’d been accused of being slightly OCD, but she liked to simply call it being thorough.} And it was always clean – no stray Legos land-mines on the floor at night, no sticky fingerprints covering the surfaces of every wall and piece of furniture and window and appliance, and no extra socks in the toilet. Yes, life was good….

Why I Will Never Be in the Olympics

The Olympics Closing Ceremony Rocked… Did you see the Spice Girls?? Total blast from my much-cherished past high school days. {I don’t care what you say. I loved ’em, and still do…} And, the athletes over the past week that I’ve been watching have been mind blowing – I’ve loved the gymnastics routines since I was a little girl, totally amazes me every single time. The synchronized swimming at the Olympics seriously is beautiful. It’s all so impressive… As I sit on my couch, with snacks, watching these athletes rock it out. But my out of shape mom bod is not the only thing stopping me from becoming an athlete…

“Share it Maybe” Sesame Street Parody Video #Humor

“I just met you, and this is crazy – But here’s my number. So call me, maybe?”… I’m guessing that you all know this song, right? I mean, how can you escape it? It seems to be on the radio every 1- to 15 minutes, it’s on every commercial, it’s referenced non-stop around the web… And like it or not, it’s so catchy that you’ll catch yourself singing along with it every time. {I even saw a blogger who made uh-may-zingly funny business cards that read – I just met you, and this is crazy – But here’s my handle. So tweet me, maybe?” And now this tune has spread all the way to Sesame Street! Check out Cookie Monster’s version of Call Me Maybe, by Carly Rae Jepsen….

I found this today in my email – I’m a subscriber to the Muppet Central forums, and get fun little updates like this once a week or so. Love it – and to be honest – I totally prefer Cookie Monster’s parody version of the song to the original. I’m a big Cookie Monster fan… :)
