“You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance.” – Franklin P. Jones… I have a story to share. It goes a little something like this – Once upon a time, there was a young woman, who lived alone. Just her, and a stray cat that decided to move in with her. She wore trendy clothes and accessories, she was 10 {ok, maybe 20…} pounds thinner, she wore heels and makeup, and had time to not just sort-of brush her hair, but also curl it – on a daily basis. Her home was amazingly organized {she’d been accused of being slightly OCD, but she liked to simply call it being thorough.} And it was always clean – no stray Legos land-mines on the floor at night, no sticky fingerprints covering the surfaces of every wall and piece of furniture and window and appliance, and no extra socks in the toilet. Yes, life was good….
How to Bathe a Toddler in 3 Simple Steps – #MomHumor
“Having a two-year-old is like having a blender without a lid.” – Jerry Seinfeld… Have you ever struggled with bathing a baby? I remember the first time I had to give Abby a bath – she was so tiny, so fragile, and I was so nervous. I got the brand new little baby bathtub out, filled it with water, decided it was too hot so I added cold water, then decided it was too cold – so I dumped it out and started again, lol. I had thought that bathing a newborn was nerve-wracking, but little did I know – a toddler is a WAY bigger challenge! So, here are my tips on how to bath a toddler in 3 simple steps….
Tall & Skinny? Hot & Sweet? 50 Shades – Pick Yours….
Ok ladies, I’m guessing that all of you have by now heard of the guilty pleasure on women’s night stands across the country – Fifty Shades of Grey. Just in case you’ve been hiding out in a mountain cave for the past few months, and haven’t heard of it – it’s a trilogy of books, featuring some rather racy content that women have made into a crazy-popular brand. Well, there’s also another set of “shades” to take a look at, that are just as hot and steamy as your favorite books….
3 Reasons to Make Your Own Jingle Right Meow
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Meow Mix for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow…. You know how it goes right? I’m talking about the Meow Mix Jingle. That crazy-annoying-yet-catchy jingle from the makers of your fave cat food products. Silly, but fun. It’s crazy that it’s been around so long – I remember annoying my own mom by singing it {is “singing” the right term?…} all day. Well, now you creative types can create your own Meow Mix Jingle. {Grab the kids. They will LOVE this. So much so that you can probably hand over the computer and get at least 15 minutes of alone time while they play with the site. Cherish it.}
3 Reasons to Make Your Own Jingle Right Meow: Head over to the Meow Mix on Sam’s Club and check out this fun little tool, and learn a little more about the best cat food brand for your little furr-babies:
- Reason 1: As I mentioned, your kids will love it. They will spend a good amount of time playing with the cat sounds, laughing and giggling, mixing and matching, until they have perfected their meow-sterpiece. {I couldn’t resist.} This gives you a few free minutes. What will you do with them? Luxurious things like go to the bathroom alone, find a clean shirt, put matching socks on? It’s up to you. Live it up, momma.
- Reason 2: You can learn a little more about Meow Mix before handing over the laptop to the kids. Like that the Tender Centers cat food is crunchy outside, meaty inside, white meat chicken and salmon flavors mixed in perfect harmony, packed with the essential nutrition that your cat needs. {Hmm, that sounds almost better than what I made us for dinner last night…}
- Reason 3: It’s fun to share! Once you have your Meow Mix jingle finished and created, you can share to Facebook and Twitter, or grab a link to share anywhere else – amazing your friends and family with your meow-tastic mixing skills. Check out my a-meow-zing {ok, I’ll stop now, lol} hit here: Meagan’s Meow Mix Jingle Jam. Even I had to laugh while using this – I love the little techno cat, I named him Kanye West. And the fluffy little opera cat rocks too.
So – Check it out on the Meow Mix page. It’ll shake up your day a little, and give you a good laugh. I promise the kids will love it. Even the 9 year old who is usually “too cool” for everything lately thought it was hilarious. And then follow Meow Mix on Facebook and Twitter, for new product updates and promotions. Do it meow….

The Sh*tty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us
“Sh*tty Mom is the ultimate parenting guide, written by four moms who have seen it all. As hilarious as it is universal, each chapter presents a common parenting scenario with advice on how to get through it in the easiest and most efficient way possible. With chapters such as “How to Sleep Until 9 A.M. Every Weekend” and “When Seeing an Infant Triggers a Mental Illness That Makes You Want to Have Another Baby,” as well as a Sh*tty Mom quiz, this is a must-have, laugh-out-loud funny book for the sh*tty parent in all of us.” I seriously laughed out loud the whole time I read this book… It’s that good. Like, “be careful if you’re reading this alone at a coffee shop because you’ll look like a weirdo giggling away in the corner all alone” kind of good. Love it. And it’s 40% off on Amazon right now too – sweetness.
If you’ve read Sh*tty Mom, or are a fan of their website already – I’d love to hear what you think too! Share some comments…
And, check out a few more of my fave “not a perfect mom but I’m trying my best” style books below. Because we all need to take a deep breath, know we’re doing all that we can, and laugh as we realize that there are a million other moms out there who aren’t perfect too. “Do your best and forget the rest.” – That’s what my grandma always told us. It’s my parenting motto now. I should get it bedazzled onto a jacket or something….
Why I Will Never Be in the Olympics
The Olympics Closing Ceremony Rocked… Did you see the Spice Girls?? Total blast from my much-cherished past high school days. {I don’t care what you say. I loved ’em, and still do…} And, the athletes over the past week that I’ve been watching have been mind blowing – I’ve loved the gymnastics routines since I was a little girl, totally amazes me every single time. The synchronized swimming at the Olympics seriously is beautiful. It’s all so impressive… As I sit on my couch, with snacks, watching these athletes rock it out. But my out of shape mom bod is not the only thing stopping me from becoming an athlete…
Anyone else have this problem?
“Share it Maybe” Sesame Street Parody Video #Humor
“I just met you, and this is crazy – But here’s my number. So call me, maybe?”… I’m guessing that you all know this song, right? I mean, how can you escape it? It seems to be on the radio every 1- to 15 minutes, it’s on every commercial, it’s referenced non-stop around the web… And like it or not, it’s so catchy that you’ll catch yourself singing along with it every time. {I even saw a blogger who made uh-may-zingly funny business cards that read – I just met you, and this is crazy – But here’s my handle. So tweet me, maybe?” And now this tune has spread all the way to Sesame Street! Check out Cookie Monster’s version of Call Me Maybe, by Carly Rae Jepsen….
But you’ve got cookies, so share them maybe?
Can’t see this “Share it Maybe” Sesame Street Parody of “Call Me Maybe?” video? Watch it on YouTube here. I found this today in my email – I’m a subscriber to the Muppet Central forums, and get fun little updates like this once a week or so. Love it – and to be honest – I totally prefer Cookie Monster’s parody version of the song to the original. I’m a big Cookie Monster fan… :)
