“There are those whose lives affect all others around them. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn, touches another. Reaching out to ends further than they would ever know.”
~William Bradfield
I love this quote. This is the type of person that I want to be, and the kind of mother I hope to be. Becoming a mother is such an intensely beautiful experience, yet filled with so much worry and stress.
I want to raise my daughter to be a happy, healthy, balanced young lady… And my actions have such a huge impact on who she will become. Such a great responsibility, and I think it’s why we examine our lives, and make so many changes, once a baby arrives. We all want to make sure that we are a person that our children can be proud of.
So, this quote is going on my wall, to remind me that my actions each day have far reaching consequences… And that is a good thing! I can spread some happiness to others every day, and be a positive influence not just to my baby girl, but to every person in my day….
“Always kiss your children goodnight – even if they’re already asleep.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
I love this quote, and thought it was really sweet.
When I was pregnant, I bought a print to hang over baby’s crib that says “Always Kiss Me Goodnight” because I thought that really summed up what type of parent I wanted to be….

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie, Author.
I really love this one. I think that this is really the key to happiness… Being able to be happy wherever you are, with whatever you have.
It’s ok to have goals, and to want more. It is wonderful to stretch your imagination, and dream big dreams.
But it is so important to remember that what you have right now is always enough to make you happy. Do you have a home? A family? Meals to eat each morning and night? Do you have friends that make you happy? Then you have enough.
Take a moment each day to think of the things that you are grateful for, big and small. It will make a big difference in your outlook, and make you smile daily. Promise.

“Your journey has molded you for the greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don’t think that you’ve lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.”
-Asha Tyson (born 1970); Writer, public speaker.
I love this quote.
There are so many times I find myself doubting the path I’m on, or wondering if I’ve made the right choices at different times in life.
But you know what? I’m happy.
Which means that every single choice I have made was the right one. If I had made one “better” decision, it would mean I would have done something in my past differently. Which could have changed my path in ways I can’t even begin to predict.
So I choose to try my best to live with no regret. As long as I am happy each day, then I am making the right choices, right?
Don’t be afraid to try new things. Don’t be afraid of looking silly, of not doing it “right”, of failing. Remember that feeling you had when you were a kid? When EVERYTHING was possible? When putting on an old football helmet, and giving your little brother a 5-sizes-too-big racing helmet, and fighting each other with empty wrapping paper rolls was a good idea, and the most fun you’ve had all day?
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
– Mark Twain, American writer
Do it. Whatever you’ve been wanting to try. If your child told you that they didn’t want to try something because they were scared they couldn’t do it, you’d tell them something like this, right?:
So tell yourself that. Tell yourself that right now. Out loud. Loud enough that the guy in the office next to you thinks you’re weird. Because it’s true.
What dreams/ideas/goals do you guys have that you’ve been just waiting to get started? And what has kept you from going for it?
