Free Old Navy Shorts Party!

One of my favorite sites helped me host a FREE Old Navy Summer Shorts Party… Crowdtap sent me coupons that allowed me AND 3 friends to head over to our local Old Navy store for a super fun product party!

Summer Lovin’

Each of us got to choose a FREE pair of Old Navy shorts, FREE summer top, and FREE accessory to compliment the look. Awesomesauce, right? We had a blast choosing outfits for each other, and each left with an amazing new summer look. Plus, with the great deals at Old Navy, we could each afford some “extra” purchases too.

Camera problems = No Fun Pics! Big bummer.

I took bunches of fun pics to share of our product party, but unfortunately, the computer program that lets me download pics is not working. Camera and computer are NOT playing nicely, and I’m working on a fix. So… I don’t have any fun pics to show you of the great outfits we bought!

This is the best I can do to share our good times… My outfit started with these super-versatile shorts, and I added this sheer tie-side tank top in white, with a fun yellow striped tank top underneath. I added some great sandals to complete the look! There are SO many affordable pieces at Old Navy that I was also able to get a couple of additional outfits for me, AND a cute 4th of July outfit for the baby, and accessories for us both! Love it.

{Free Advertising} Interested in having your products featured?

Happy Birthday Abby!

My little girl is getting ready to have her very first birthday! {That’s her in the pic above, when silly mommy made a cake to celebrate her 6-month half-birthday} I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. She is just such a big girl these days… Got her first tooth {finally!} a couple days ago, and started walking last week. It’s hard to believe…

Party like it’s your birthday…

I’ve been planning her party for quite some time now, as many of you already know. Her dad thought it was crazy to be thinking about her birthday months in advance, but this momma is pretty excited!

We have the big in-ground pool up and running finally, so we’re doing a huge Luau Party. I’ve got boxes of decorations, and have made loads of fun stuff. This is going to be a blast…

Would you like to have your product featured?

I have a few companies that have reached out to have me review their items, so to give them more exposure, I’m going to have some of them featured during the party. I thought it would be a fun way to do some reviews, get a ton of feedback from guests, and a share some great products with my too!

I have a fun Luau game pack from Tomoson.com, we will be testing out some new vegetarian dishes with some great products from Harmony Valley, Abby will be wearing an absolutely adorable headband from Wild Crush, and more. Goodie Bags and Swag Bags!

Also, I am putting together bunches of great goodie bags for the kids, and I’m also putting together some amazing swag bags for some of the moms at the party. These will be filled with samples of some great products from companies I’ve partnered with lately, as well as lots of product info, catalogs, business cards, and more.

It’s kind of last minute, but I’d like to open up this opportunity to my readers too: If you have anything that you would like to add to these swag bags, and get into the hands of a great bunch of momma’s, email me with your idea! Even if you’d just like to share your business card, feel free to send them my way, and I’ll include them for the guests to see.

As a work-from-home momma myself, I understand how tough it can be sometimes to get your business out there, and get seen by new faces, so I love to help give other moms new easy ways to promote their business.

Everyone that is in the bags will also get a shout out on the blog, I’ll have a link up of any of you ladies that added something. Just a fun and easy way to get yourself a little bit of exposure. You can send anything from 10 business cards, to 50 samples, whatever you want to share with people.

{Mommy Thoughts} How to Pick a Baby Name

Picking a Baby Name…

How did you choose your baby’s name? I had such a hard time, since I am one of those people that can never make a decision. We agreed that if it was a boy, he’d be named after his daddy… But I got to pick a boy middle name. One day at work, some little boy yelled to his brother, and instantly, I knew that Wyatt was the middle name for my son. Done, just like that.

It’s a Girl!

When we found out that we were having a girl, it fell to me to choose the new name. {I was SOOO surprised to find out it was a girl, and thrilled. All of my friends and family only have baby boys… I had started to think baby’s only came in “boy”, lol}.

Searching for Inspiration…

I started out by browsing on baby names sites, to get ideas. I had never planned to become a mom, and had NEVER given any thought to names, {although I have friends who have planned names for whole herds of future babies…} I found a few that I liked… Olivia, but a friend of mine had a daughter with that name, so it was out. Isabella, but no one in the family liked it, and I have a friend with a dog named Bella. My mom wanted me to name baby after her, but Debbie didn’t seem like a very modern baby name. Dad shot down the name Lily, and Emma was out because that was his other daughters name.

The search continues…

I looked at things like most popular baby names, celebrity names, and even used online tools like random name generators! Finally, I came across a name that just suddenly, just like the baby boy name, felt right….

Her name was Abigail! And we’d call her Abby :) As soon as the name was chosen, it just felt right, and I knew it was what I’d been looking for. It also changed the way I felt about my pregnancy… Suddenly, this baby was a real person. Instead of saying, “when the baby comes”, I could say “when Abby comes..”
