Nature’s Sleep Cayman Gel Memory Foam Mattress – Does It Live Up to the Hype?

As some of you may remember, as part of my big home makeover project we’ve been working on, I’ve been in the process of redoing our Master Bedroom over the past few months. We bought a new rug, built a closet, got a new TV and mount for the wall, painted the whole room, and even bought all new bedroom furniture too. And what’s a new bed without a new mattress, right? I mean, it doesn’t matter if the room looks good if the bed isn’t comfy. Now, after getting over the amazement of how such a big, fluffy, plush mattress could be squeezed up into such a small package – I have to admit it, I started feeling a little skeptical. I mean, it was seriously heaven when I laid down on it for the first time. Like, love-love-love. But I wondered… since it’s just foam, with no springs or anything inside, wouldn’t it just kind of squish down in places after awhile? Would it really hold up, and still form perfectly to me each time I laid down? Or would it flatten out after time?

What Does the Fox Say? – Holiday Ideas

Have you seen it yet – the What Does the Fox Say video from Ylvis? My nephews showed it to me a few weeks ago, before they headed off for school. I was half distracted trying to work, thought it was funny, and then sent them off to the bus. Little did I know – my life had just changed. This song has been stuck in my head ever since! And the more times I watch the video, the funnier it gets to me :) If you haven’t yet heard what all the fuss is about – let me show ya:

I love that the singer is so serious, while singing these ridiculous lyrics, in an over-the-top epic video. Flying guys in furry fox suits? Laser lights? What more can you ask for? This is now my little girl’s favorite song too – she was SO excited to see it performed in a choreographed dance routine on last night’s Dancing with the Stars finale. She jumped all over the bed singing and spinning. Which is why, when we had our early family Thanksgiving last weekend, I had to turn our pumpkin pie slices into fox faces…

Bring the Nutcracker Story to Life…

Nutcracker Teddie from Cuddle Barn helps bring the classic Nutcracker holiday story to life... I’ve always been intrigued by nutcrackers. My mom has collected them for years, and displays them all together at the holidays. When I was a little girl, I remember how magical they seemed, the way you could move the lever on the back to make them “talk,” how majestic they always looked, in their suits adorned with buttons and glitz. Then, when I saw the Nutcracker ballet for the first time – it really brought all of that magic to life for me. I would dream of our nutcrackers coming to life too, and dancing around the house while I slept. And now, my little girl {3 years old} has fallen in love with the magic of nutcrackers too… Grandma just put them out on our shelves this week, and she can’t keep her hands off of them! So, it was perfect timing to pull out a super fun new toy for the holidays – the Nutcracker Teddie.

Confetti Kisses: Mix and Match Fashions for Girls

Do you have a little fashionista in your life? I sure do. I love it… I love it even when she raids my jewelry box and piles on 32 bangle bracelets and all of my necklaces. Sure, she has her share of total fashion mishaps – like last week, when she put on daddy’s work boots, her no pants, no shirt, with a coat, one glove, and a blonde mermaid wig – and then proclaimed that she was ready to go outside and play in the rain. That was a bit of a fashion fail, lol. But, she’s gotten very interested in what she wears lately {she turned 3 in late July} – so I’m trying to choose more pieces that mix and match well, to reduce morning arguments. If most of her closet matches moderately well, then it’s easier for her to choose her own outfit, you know?
