Bloggertunities: How to Find the Best Blogging Opportunities for Women Bloggers

Blogging opportunities list for women bloggers

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Seuss

Most of you mommas out there are probably familiar with this Dr. Seuss quote – it’s one of my favorites. While it applies to pretty much everything in life – I think it really applies to the blogging world very well. Lately, I’ve seen quite a few instances of people flying off the handle over someone else’s actions, opinions, or parenting ideas. There will always be someone who disagrees with you, in life, and especially on the web. I do my VERY best, always, to be respectful of people I disagree with, but on the internet, that seems to be getting more rare by the day. The trolls love to attack over any little thing, right? So – Be as authentically YOU as possible on your site. Make the choices that are best for you and your readers. Share what you think, listen to other opinions, but don’t ever censor yourself just because of the haters out there. They’re gonna hate over something anyway, might as well be something that you’re really passionate about :)

Making Money with Your Blog

  • Integrate: This is a really interesting network, very different than a lot of others that I’ve worked with. For some tips on how it works, read my Getting Started with Integrate.com post. Or visit their site to read more, and join today.
  • Link Vehicle: This is a pretty easy way to earn a little extra cash for your writing – but there are a few drawbacks to be aware of. While it’s super simple to sign up and get started, not all of the offers you’ll get are always for projects that will be a good fit for you – so be sure to be choosy, and only accept those offers that your readers will be interested in learning about. And, be aware that the price quoted to you for a post {mine is usually around $30} – you will only get half of that price, they keep the other half. But, I do a few of these a month, and they pay on time every month, so I’m happy with them. Learn more about Link Vehicle.
  • Mom Spark Media: If you’re following the Mom Spark blog, then you already know how awesome Amy is, who runs the site. She also has a network to connect bloggers and brands, called Mom Spark Media. It’s a paid membership – either $5 a month, or $40 a year – And after paying for my second year recently, I can tell you that it’s definitely worth it! You not only get connected with cool opportunities like sponsored posts, twitter party hosting, and sweet product reviews, you’ll also be able to access all of the great support forums too. Love it.
  • SheHeard: Making Blogger to Brand Connections – that’s what they do! There are a couple of totally rockin’ ladies behind this network, and you’ll love working with them. Learn more about the site, and sign up to be a member of their great community today to get access to new opps.
  • Stella & Dot: This is a really great option for those of you who are fashion bloggers – Become a Stylish wtih them, work from home, promote your great gear on your site, and earn some serious income. I know quite a few people doing this, and am considering it myself – www.stelladot.com/stylist
  • Business2Blogger: You’ll find everything from paid posts to product reviews on this site. I was able to get connected to a brand who flew me to Texas to cover a really cool event earlier this year, by applying for the opp on the Business 2 Blogger site. Lots of new opportunities going up each week, so check back often. Sign up for their Blogger Outreach.
  • Social Spark: For those of you already using Social Spark to get connected to sponsored posts, are you noticing a lot of new campaigns coming through too? I’m definitely loving that! For those of you not working with them yet – you can sign up for Social Spark now, and be ready for the extra bunch of paid posts for the holiday season!
  • Paper Coterie: Are you a member of this super easy to use new affiliate company yet? Very cool.

  • Profnet: I was super excited to find this post – I’ve been pretty confused about how to use Profnet, but I’m always hearing really great things about it. If that describes you too, check out How to Submit Queries on Profnet and Profnet Connect.

“If I’d observed all the rules, I’d never have got anywhere.” – Marilyn Monroe

When it comes to the wild, wild, web – there are a million rules. And most of them have reasons to be broken. It’s smart to study, read, and research – but just like when it comes to parenting advice, remember that your blog is unique, and what works/doesn’t work for someone else, may NOT be what’s right for you. And being as fully YOU as possible each week is the best way to be successful – for both your blog, and your own happiness! Enjoy the list this week of opps, leads, tips, and reads. Pick the ones that are best for you and your goals. And then be sure to leave your own helpers in the comments – event sign ups, linkys, hops, tips posts, fave affiliate links – whatever you think might help another blogger reading this post! Thanks for all you do – and have a great week!

Networks and Linkys

  • Social Fabric: Many of you have probably heard about Collective Bias/Social Fabric – the’re the company that does the fun shopping trips and product post. Not really a typical review, and there are always tons of new projects to work on with them. They’re open to new sign ups again – the key to success with them is great quality photos, good content, and creativity. They have a really generous compensation plan, are very supportive of everyone in their community, and a great company to work with!Networks & Linkys to Join
  • Mommy Solutions: This is one of my favorite linkys to join each week. I get great traffic from it, I love that she features the previous week’s most popular posts to promote them, and whooooo boy – I find some awesome posts to check out each week when I go to link up! The Mommy Club: Share your resources and solutions!
  • POP Alerts: Sign up for these newsletters on the Mom Fuse site – Get POP Alerts – to get updates when there are new promotions, campaigns, review opps, and more. Mom Fuse POP (Post Our Pitch) alerts are targeted towards mom bloggers, but are diverse enough to work great for everyone.

Freelance Writing

  • Social Media Direct: From their newsletter: “Do you have a social media tip you’d like to share? Or an online marketing strategy that worked for you? We’re looking for guest posts and would love to share your awesomeness on our site, promote your biz and show you off to our fans and followers as well! Just send in your guest post idea to prerna@socialmediadirectbiz.com and let’s get started!”
  • Examiner: I love the way that I’m able to use this local column to connect with cool local businesses. Everyone wants to be featured and promoted – it’s a great thing for those businesses to be able to share on their own social media – So I have so many people on my “To Cover” list, waiting to be posted about. It’s a super fun way to get to know people in your area, make new connections, and get fun freebies that help you write about local events. Find your favorite topic of expertise locally {I’m a Yakima Frugal Living Examiner} – then sign up to host your own column too.

Money to make

  • Business2Blogger: This is a great network filled with cool opps you can apply for – I was able to go on an all-expenses paid trip to Texas to work with an awesome company earlier this year, connected to me by an opp on this site. Very cool stuff. Blogger Outreach – Join today.
  • Monetize Your Blog: This is a post that I wrote a couple of months ago for the Bi-Annual Blogathon event. It’s my best tips on how to earn an income from your blog – most people can find at least one or two new ideas here. 5 Simple Ways to Monetize Your Blog.
  • Social Spark: Simple to complete campaigns, and really great payouts. Request a PayPal payment everytime you have $50 in your account {or pay a small fee if you have less but want your cash asap} – Love this site, especially during the holiday season. Join Social Spark.
  • Paper Coterie: I’ve told you before how much I adore this site… If you’d like to see their products yourself, and get pics to make it easier to promote their great stuff, get a FREE $40 worth of products until the end of the month. Seriously – $40 off a $40 purchase – how much more rockin’ can you get? If you love it, sign up as a member of their affiliate program too. You get free product codes monthly, access to great deals to promote, and more.
  • Escalate: This is one of the easiest affiliates to work with, and they have SUPER quick payouts each month, at only $25 minimum to get a check our PayPal payment. Sweet, right? Great offers for mom bloggers.
  • Logical: One of my fave things about Logical Media is that the offers they have available stay valid for a LONG time. So that I can get clicks and conversions on posts that I wrote a year ago, that still get random traffic. So great! Logical Media – Make Money!
  • Glam: This is my much-loved ad network. I do NOT suggest ever relying on Google Adsense, since they are known to strip people of their earnings at the drop of a hat {Happened to me, $11oo bucks. Ugh.} But a network like Glam does more than just provide you with ad codes to help you monetize your sidebars. They also have an amazing sponsored post program too. Apply to be a part of their network here {don’t let the huge traffic numbers scare you away- I didn’t meet that when I applied either!} – But do know that the biggest thing that Glam is looking for is bloggers with unique content.
  • Free Product: Ok, this isn’t a way to get paid cash {although one of the tips does include getting real checks…} – But, as a blogger, you have a huge network and sphere of influence. As a busy mom, you have a great eye for quality and what’s cool. As someone who’s online a LOT, you know a good deal when you see one. So combine those things, and use this list to share the best daily deals, and earn a TON of free credit to buy the things that your family wants most. 15 Awesome Ways to Shop for Free. I did this before I blogged, and have even more success now. I was able to do almost all of our holiday shopping last year {gifts, outfits, events and experiences, and food} for almost free, using these sites. LOVE.

Product opps

  • Sample Party: If you’re a member of Mom’s Meet {if you’re not, there’s a link to apply right in this survey} – apply to host a National Geographic Super Readers party for your moms group or playdate members. Learn more and fill out the survey to apply.
  • Twitter Tuesday: You definitely should subscribe to email updates on the Blogathon site – she posts tons of helpful content each week, and my favorite is this weekly Twitter Leads post.

Blogging Opportunities for Power Mom Bloggers

“Don’t agonize. Organize.” – Florynce Kennedy

Welcome to another edition of the weekly Bloggertunities – new leads, opps, resources, and events for amazing women bloggers like you! I keep promising that this will get back to it’s regular Wednesday morning posting time, but again, I’m late. I’m just recovering from whooping cough, and a rib that I fractured from coughing {who DOES that?} – and now Abby is sick too. Luckily, the doc called us today with good news, Abby does not have whooping cough too. Probably just a virus. But she’s still quite the fuss pot – “Sit in chair momma! Sit in chair right now! Cartoons! Cartoons in chair – cartoons with Abby! RIGHT NOW!” Ah, good times. But hopefully, with my nephews back in school, my days a little less hectic, and a recovery in sight – I can finally get back on track again. {Ha.”Man, I’m soooo caught up on work. I just have nothing to do now – I guess I’ll go relax with all of this free time” – Said no mom blogger ever.} I hope that you’re all enjoying the new transition into fall too – and ready for all of the online excitement that the holiday season brings! And, speaking of excitement – I’d love for you to all help out a fellow blogger who’s in the running for a super exciting contest with Macy’s!

Help a mutha-blogga out – Sadie Lankford, formerly of Randomosity, now owner of Slap Dash Mom, needs our help! Most of you know and love her – so let’s help her win the Macy’s Blogger Contest. Makin’ Money

  • Eden Fantasys: Ok, this one isn’t for everyone. But I’ve blogged about Eden Fantasys many times, and there are plenty of ways to keep it PG and family friendly. And, when you order yourself, add product reviews to the site, rate items, etc – you earn more free points that can convert to free product gift cards. Love it. You can learn more and sign up here. {Another bonus – you get codes for free stuff each month too!}
  • Amazon: If you live in a state where you can work with Amazon, this is a fantastic affiliate for anyone to join. Do reviews? Add an Amazon link to the product in each post. Do craft tutorial? Add links to some of those cool supplies and tools you use. Do recipes? Share links to the cool baking pans you use, or your favorite kitchen gadgets. Love it.

Bloggertunities: 20 New Resources for Bloggers this Week

blogging opportunities for women bloggers

“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.” – Jonathan Winters

Summer was super challenging for me. I feel like I’ve gotten way of course, off track, off schedule. Having my nephews here all day every day – in addition to my little girl who just turned two – was a lot more work than I had anticipated. I worked too much, didn’t make enough time for fun, yet still didn’t accomplish even half of what I should have the past couple of months. But – a new school year always feels like the “real” new year to me…. I’ve bought a new desk calendar and a few new office supplies. I cleaned out my Blogging Binder {which I need to do a post about since ya’all keep asking…} and cleaned off my bulletin board. My brother and the kids just moved out, after us all living together for the past 2 1/2 years…. Bittersweet. I miss them already, but I am excited to have more space for a real office, and a playroom for Abby. So – over the course of the next couple of weeks I’m going to re-evaluate things, and revamp. I’m totally ready for fall and new opportunities – are you?

Remember – Feel free to share your best blogging tips posts, event sign up forms, linkys and hops – anything that you think others might find helpful, share it in the comments! I love seeing all the good stuff you guys post too.

Makin’ Money with your Blog

  • Paper Coterie: This is quickly becoming my VERY favorite affiliate that I’ve ever worked with. Not only are they super simple to use {their system is set up just like Escalate, very user friendly} – but they even send out emails once every couple of weeks or so with a FREE PRODUCT coupon code! This is a great way to start stocking up on really pretty, personalized, paper products for holiday gifts.
  • BlogFrog Influencers: Join the Influencer Circle on BlogFrog – see their site for the minimum requirements. If you meet them – apply for opportunities to share great brands and campaigns with your readers, and earn fun compensation too!
  • Bloggabase: This is a brand new network – but you can sign up to be notified when they officially launch. Says it’s a network from the bloggers perspective – with new ways to monetize, get opps, and more. Sign up for Bloggabase here.
  • Social Spark: Super simple posts that you write right on their site, and you get to choose whether to accept posts, to ensure you only share brands that are a good fit to be interesting to your readers. Good payouts that pay directly into your PayPal account. Going into the holidays, this is going to be a great money maker – Last year it was one of my best.

Promote Your Posts

  • Blog Nation: Submit your blog’s RSS feed to Blog Nation – they’ll syndicate all posts to their site. Users who are reading posts there can click whether they like them or not… The more popular your post, the more likely it is to get shown to more and more people – driving traffic your way! Easy peasy.
  • List your Blog: I loooove this list. I haven’t finished it all, but try to go back to it once a month – 62 Places to List Your Website or Blog for Free. The more “doors” there are to your site on the web, the more ways people can find their way to you. Plus some of the links are do follow, which helps build your page rank.
  • Promoting Posts: I love this infographic that shows 12 Things You Should Do After Writing a Blog Post. It’s so important – especially on your good quality evergreen posts – to get them promoted in a variety of different ways. I’ve used many of these tips with success – and it’s a good reminder. I printed it out to add to my blogging binder!
  • Drive Traffic: This is a great post – 50 Ways to Drive Massive Traffic to Your Blog. Each tip is a one liner – super simple ideas that are totally do-able. Many you’ve probably already tried, or thought of… But it’s a great way to jump start your creativity again, and think of new ways to boost your blog.

Tools, Resources, and Good Reads

  • Rafflecopter: This is a really great break-down of survey results that Rafflecopter did to determine how many entries should be on a giveaway form. It shows how many most businesses and bloggers use, and what most giveaway entrants prefer. Interesting – and I was glad to see I fall into the middle ground on this one.
  • Ethics: This is a great post about ethics in blogging – following the laws and regulations that apply to you, as well as doing the right thing – even when you don’t have to. Get it here Tips to Avoid Ethical Pitfalls in Blogging and Social Media.
  • Facebook: This is a perfect post on how to get more interaction on your Facebook fan page. I mean – there’s only so much that you can control, Facebook changes all.the.time. But – when you learn a bit about how Edgerank works, and how Facebook decides which updates to share in people’s newsfeeds, you can bump up your “seen by” numbers quite a bit.

“You don’t write because you want to say something; you write because you’ve got something to say.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald

Ok – I’ve been a bit inconsistent with these Blogging Opportunity posts lately, I know it. Having my nephews home from school for the summer was a lot more work and stress than I had anticipated. Then there was the travel for conferences. And all the kiddos who like to come visit each afternoon because we’re one of the only people in our group of friends with a pool, lol. But – as school is getting ready to start again, and my days will have a little more structure and stability back in them – You can look forward to the weekly Bloggertunities post every Wednesday morning again, starting soon. {So be sure to sign up for my email updates so you never miss one!} This post isn’t as full as usual, because I’m still catching up from BlogHer – Ohmyohmy, what 6 days away from checking my email can do…. But I hope you find some good stuff! If you have events, sign ups, linkys, hops, or cool news to share, leave it in the comments below. And if you do find this post helpful – be sure to give it a tweet or Facebook share too. Thanks all!

Bloggertunities: Blogging Opportunities for Mom Bloggers

blogging opportunities for mom bloggers

“Thinking too long about doing something is often the reason it never gets done.” – Everyday Life Lessons

Love this quote. I do tend to have a tendency to procrastinate… I over-analyze things, I doubt myself, I question my decisions. It’s a terrible habit. But, my goal this year was to dream big. Get gutsy. Grow some lady balls, if you will. And so far – I am pretty amazed with myself. Big example – BlogHer. Last year I felt like I was too small, too unknown, it would be silly to go to a big conference full of blogging rock stars, right? But at the last minute, I committed to splitting a room in New York City with a couple of girls I’d never even met. I bought a ticket for the conference. I had NO idea how I’d accomplish it all, or afford it, or heck – how I’d manage navigating NYC all on my own!!?? But – I got to meet one of my roomies during the Nike trip, and again at Reviewer’s Retreat, and she freakin’ rocks. My other roomie was uh-MAY-zing in scoring us some great sponsors that covered our whole hotel room bill. At the last minute, I was invited to be a part of the new Best Buy Blogging Board, and get to meet them at BlogHer. So, my best advice this week is to stop dreaming, planning, wondering – and start DOING! Just jump into things, even if they scare you. You will ALWAYS have more regrets about things you didn’t try, then things you tried that didn’t work out. Promise :) So – use these tips and links to help you learn & try some new things, and let me know if you’re going to BlogHer too, so I can connect with you there! {There is a whole section of BlogHer links this week too!}

  • Finding your Niche: While some disagree with me, I know – every time I talk to brands about building blogger campaigns, I hear how they want to find bloggers not with the biggest numbers – but with the most targeted communities. I mean – if you have a new organic baby product to review, do you want a blogger who blogs about everything, or someone who has a really active following of like-minded readers who are passionate about green living? Something to think about… Blogging what you love: Finding your niche.

Love it? Share it!

Share anything that you’re loving right now in the comments – an event sign up form for your next big thing, a great tips post you’ve written, or a new network you’re finding super helpful.
