New Year Refresher – January Birchbox

Hey ladies! I got my newest Birchbox in the mail about a week or so ago, and wanted to give you a look at what I got this month. I am SUCH a junkie for subscription boxes – I love getting fun surprises in the mail. And, with beauty products, I’m a fickle girl. I have a few go-to products that are always in my bathroom and bag, but I love trying out new things regularly. Which can get expensive. Which is why I am loving Birchbox and Ipsy – they’re both really affordable subscriptions, I get a handful of fun new things to check out each month, and  you get deals on the full size products if you fall in love and want more. Awesomesauce.

So, this is my newest box. {See previous here.} Everyone’s will be a bit different, since you fill out a fun survey when you sign up, with your brand, color, and product preferences, so that they can customize a box just for you. And those customized items are based around a theme each month – this one is refreshing for the new year. It comes in an adorable little box, as always, and includes a really helpful insert with info about each product. Here’s what I got this month, to give you an idea of what they send when you join:

  • NuFACE Prep-N-Glow cloths: These are double-sided wipes: one lacy-soft side to fully remove makeup and dirt, then the other has microdots to gently exfoliate, to show off glowy skin. These are totally gentle enough for even my sensitive skin, but clean really thoroughly.
  • Vasanti BrightenUp! Face Rejuvenator: This is a “customer favorite” on their site, and I can totally see why! It’s supposed to mimic the effect of microdermabrasion, by just massaging in a pea-sized amount into damp skin, then rinse. I feel super fresh and clean afterwards, and my skin is soooo soft.
  • JUARA Candlenut Body Creme: This is a super velvety cream for really dry skin, which most of us have at this time of year. And it has a really light fragrance, which doesn’t interfere with any other scents you wear.
  • Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner: I’m working on a post, coming soon, comparing eyeliners. This is the one makeup area that I struggle with the most – I have a lot of pain in my hands now, and they can be shaky, so applying eyeliner evenly is a prob. I’m also a fussy fidgety type, always messing with my eyes, leading to smears. But, this liquid eyeliner is really user-friendly, super sleek, love.
  • Beauty Protector Protect & Oil: This is my favorite this month – I got addicted to Argan Oil awhile back, and now love any type of oils. This one is a multitasker, gives a nice shine to dry hair, protects from heat damage, but isn’t oily or heavy. It makes my hair really super silky.

You can find all of the products on the Birchbox site, and sign up for your own monthly subscription too – Join Birchbox Today! They even have a men’s box too, for the dudes in your life who could use a little bit of pampering :) The normal price is just $10 bucks a month – TEN BUCKS, which is around the price of one dinner at a fast food restaurant – and you get five products each month, a mix of hair, skincare, and cosmetics. SO worth it.

When you join using my referral link, you get your first month half off too. Rad, right? Click here: Birchbox Half Off Subscription.

Have you used Birchbox? Share your thoughts about it in the comments. And let me know about other subscription boxes you love too – I’m getting Ipsy, and really love that too. But I’m always looking for new things like this to try. I’m on a suuuuper tight budget, so this is a great way for me to get my new stuff fix without spending too much :)
