This compensated post is a partnership between me and the awesome people at Home Depot to tell you more about their free Do-It-Herself Workshops at local stores across the country! #DIHWorkshop I love them, and know you will too….
We all know that The Home Depot rocks, right? I mean, I could seriously spend hours there, just browsing flooring, paint colors, bathroom fixtures…. Love it. But there’s one super awesome thing about them you might not know – they have free workshops every month. Almost none of my friends or family knew about these until I told them, so I’m guessing some of you ladies might not be familiar with them yet. But they ROCK.
The Home Depot has three different types of workshops – Kids Workshops, Do-It-Yourself Workshops, and a special night just for us – Do-It-Herself Workshops. {Learn more about all of them available at your local store, and sign up for upcoming ones here: Home Depot Workshops.} The DIHWorkshop is held every third Thursday of the month, and is a great excuse for a ladies night with your favorite people – free fun, snacks, learn new skills, and get to take home something cool that you made yourself! Can you tell that these ladies at the recent holiday workshop are having a blast? They get together every month for these, and bring a big group of friends. Love it!
These in-store workshops give you step-by-step instructions and hands-on experience learning to do simple décor and easy home improvements. You’ll learn the skills – and gain the confidence! – to take your home decor and DIY ideas from dreams, to DONE! :)
This is our holiday workshop getting set up. Everyone got a set of materials, had a chance to try out some awesome RYOBI tools, and got a gift bag sponsored by HGTV to take home with them!
More workshop fun – ladies working on their holiday signs, and checking out their goodie bags. These workshops are done right in the store, and include everything you need to create, build, and learn!
This is a video of my mom learning to use one of the RYOBI power tools – she was a little nervous at first, but did great. And I tried out this nail gun for the first time – WHY have I not bought one of these before? I’m in love, and it’s on my Christmas list. {Funny story… My boyfriend used to be a construction superintendent. To save time he disconnected the safety on his nail gun. He shot himself all the way through the knee with a 4 inch nail. Don’t try that at home, kids. Lol.}
And to top off all of the night’s fun – we even gave away prizes! I got to hand out loads of The Home Depot gift cards and it was so much fun – I felt like Vanna White :)

I love it! I have that same nail gun and once I get started its hard for me to stop. LOL! Girl power, HA!
This is a great idea. I did get a drill, and put up my drapery hardware, it felt good, as the quotes I got were a huge amount of money to do my own place. I’d love something like this.
I love Home Depot! I could spend hours in there roaming around, dreaming of all the projects I could do. I checked out the workshops in my area and they are on days that I work unfortunately otherwise I’d be taking my g-son to the ones for kids. I love that they not only have workshops for adults but also for kids. Thanks for sharing!
