25 Days & 25 Ways to Enjoy the Holidays

A few days ago I introduced you to a really fun way to help yourself remember to slow down and enjoy the holiday season. It’s a holiday countdown calendar, on Facebook, from Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. I was already a fan of Chateau Ste. Michelle, since they’re located here in Washington Wine Country, in Woodinville, about a two-hour drive from where I live. I’ve been on a couple of wine tours here locally, and have Chateau Ste. Michelle on my “to-visit” list for this summer.

And while I love the excitement of visiting my favorite wineries, I also love to enjoy a glass of my favorite wine at home too – {responsibly, of course}. So obviously I’m loving this fun new holiday countdown calendar – each day it gives you a fun tip or idea to try. They’re written with busy women like us in mind, to give us simple but festive suggestions for enjoying the holiday season. Check out today’s daily tip:

Calm before the festive storm

You + A glass of wine + a little calm before the festive storm = Today’s Chateau. Today’s tip is to encourage you to slip away from the daily chaos of this time of year, take a little “me time” break, and savor a few peaceful minutes to enjoy the season and a glass of wine. For a light wine that’s perfect for enjoying with seafood, or a bright penne pasta dish, try the 2012 Horse Heaven Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, a favorite of mine. And take a peek behind the scenes at how they create these amazing wines….

A few of my other recent favorite daily nudges from the My Chateau calendar have been – “Strapped for time? Sending traditional greeting cards are nice, but e-cards give you more time to enjoy a glass of wine.” And the very first tip makes my mouth water just reading it again – “Today is Eat-a-Red-Apple Day. We checked, and it’s okay to have a slice of apple cake with a glass of ice wine instead.” Sounds like a winner to me! And check out my last post to see another of my favorite tips – on getting the house decorated and festive without any effort on your part. Anything that saves me time during the hustle and bustle of the holidays is a good thing. Make sure to check ’em out and get daily tips for the rest of month leading up to Christmas too!
