We’ve been together for over 7 years now. We’ve lived together, adopted a dog together, and together are the lucky parents of the most amazing little girl I’ve ever met. We’ve had more than our share of ups and down – but somehow, through it all, there are still a million little reasons that make him perfect for me. {I know, I know…. Yep, many moons ago, when I was younger, thinner, and colored my hair for fun, not to cover up grey hairs – I met Mike at a little dive bar one night. He sent me a drink. I wasn’t interested. My friend who worked there insisted I go say hello, and thank him, since he was a regular and a really nice guy. I walked over to where he sat alone at the bar. Thanked him, and grudgingly invited him to join us. He said, “No thanks. I’m just waiting for my nachos.” {Jerk. Ugh.} Turns out, he was just a little shy and embarrassed, because I’d ignored him for so long. He was anxiously awaiting those nachos he’d ordered, so that he could take them to go. Lol. But he had a change of heart after I talked to him, and joined me for a drink. He was cute. He was funny. He quickly won me over. Seven years later, I’m so glad that I thanked him for that drink….
