About the party:

Halloween will be celebrated throughout October, with many chances for fun including pumpkin festivals, costume parades, parties, and of course trick-or-treating. Halloween itself is the third biggest party day in the country, behind New Year’s Eve and Super Bowl Sunday.

This fall, as we prepare to amuse little ghosts and goblins and entertain friends and family, festive Halloween snacks come to mind. Although candy may stand as the most popular option, there are lots of opportunities to get creative and offer treats that are wholesome, delicious and guaranteed to not provide an additional sugar rush! Everyone associates pumpkins with this time of year, but most people don’t know that avocados grow in their native land of Mexico all year long, and ripen in abundance during the fall and winter seasons.

Spookamole!!

To celebrate this, Avocados from Mexico created a fun recipe contest called “Spookamole”.  Orange and black are the official colors of the holiday, but this year think “ghoulish green!” Participants whipped up a Halloween-themed recipe featuring avocados from Mexico. Avocados from Mexico chose five finalists, and the public voting is now open!
