Celebrate the Dads Who Care

“He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” – Clarence Budington Kelland Father’s Day is almost upon us. A time to think about all of the fathers who have made a difference in our lives – our own, friends, or our kiddo’s dads. As much as us women kick butt on a daily basis, there are some amazing men in our lives that need some appreciation too, right? :)

Disney with Mike

One dad that I want to talk about is my Mister – we’ve been together for almost 9 years. He’s the best dad to Abby that I could ever ask for. He works with me in my online business, he does almost all of the cooking {and even the dishes!}, and helps and supports me so much. Love this guy – we make a great team. <3 The picture above is from when we visited Disneyland for the first time, for #DisneySMMoms – it was awesome to have my family with me at an event. And Abby had the most fun I think I’ve ever seen her have! During conference day, he and Abby got to spend a lot of father-daughter bonding time, riding the rides and seeing the sites. It was so great seeing them both smile so much!

So to celebrate all of those real amazing dads out there, and recognize all the ways that they show that they care -Dove Men+Care has launched a really moving new campaign. Check out the video below…

In a recent survey, 3 out of 5 dads say the media portrays them negatively. And I can totally see that – how many times have you seen commercials showing dads unable to change a diaper, do dishes, or other basic stuff? My Mister can do all of those things – and DOES do them – every day. More and more men are getting involved in household routines, and I know quite a few that have made the choice to be stay at home dads, while their girlfriends/wives go to work full time. Many of them feel judged, as though a man can’t take care of the kids and the house – but I know plenty of men who do it all, and do it well. Just like the real men and their families in the video above – there are a million little ways each day that dads show that they care.

And, to help dad care for himself {since he clearly deserves it!} – make sure to check out the Dove Men+Care line, and stock up a basket of goodies for dad this Father’s Day. Check them out…

Dove Men + Care - #RealDadMoments

The Dove Men+Care line is the more manly version of your favorite Dove products – created to help provide more care for men’s skin. My Mister is a race car guy – he builds ’em, fixes ’em, designs and installs vinyl for ’em, races ’em – and WINS. :) But all that hard work means he has to use some pretty harsh soaps at times to wash away that grease. Which is why I love the Dove Men+Care line, since it helps balance all of that out:

  • The body wash has skin care built in. Because most guys are into a complicated “beauty” routine, right? The Dove Men+Care body wash is clinically proven to fight dry skin better than regular men’s body wash. And it’s super high tech – it has a MICROMOISTURE formula, a unique gel technology that activates on skin when lathered up. Very cool.
  • Then there’s the bar soap, also clinically proven to fight dry skin better than ordinary soaps. It uses Dove’s signature 1/4 moisturizing cream to boost his skin’s own outer surface barrier – which means it keeps him soft and smooth. Which is a win for us too :)

Dove Men+Care is a full line of grooming products just for men, check out the rest of them at your local retailer. And, be sure to share YOUR #RealDadMoments with Dove on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram – they love hearing from you, and it’s a fun way to celebrate the men in your life! And then…. Enter to win!! One winner will get a big package of Dove Men+Care goodies shipped right to their door. Use the easy peasy Rafflecopter form below to enter to win – and good luck!

  1. It’s kind of sad how guys are so often portrayed as just bumbling lazy laughing stock who just don’t get it. I’m trying to imagine if it were vice versa! Yikes.
