I’m a breakfast lover. I tend to be quite a picky eater at most other meals, but there’s nothing breakfasty that I don’t. Sausage and bacon? Yes please! Scrambled eggs and potatoes? Pile ’em high! Pancakes and french toast and muffins, oh my! A little conversation out of Winnie the Pooh sums up my feelings about breakfast perfectly:
“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said.”
So – now you know how much I love a good breakfast. But you also know how busy mornings can be. I’ve always taken time on Sunday mornings to cook a big family meal, but weekdays are a different story. I get up early to get some work done online, then get Abby up and ready for the day a couple hours later, and find her a morning game or activity to play. Most mornings my nephews are here too – they’re 7 and 10, and get dropped off here for an hour or so before they head out to catch the bus. Boys that age need something heartier than just a cereal bar in the morning. Something with meat and cheese. Which is why I’m in LOVE with Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls and sandwiches. Seriously.
There are TONS of crazy-delicious Jimmy Dean breakfast options to choose from at Walmart – my current fave is the Meat Lovers breakfast bowl. It’s packed with so much good stuff: Eggs, potatoes, sausage, cheese and bacon all mixed up together, and cooks in it’s own bowl – no mess, and it’s easy to grab and go. And it’s packed with 24 grams of protein – meaning the boys stay full until lunch time, and I don’t snack on cookies while I’m working.
See those big hearty chunks of meaty goodness? The portions are really generous – definitely enough to fill you up. I split mine in half, and partner it with some whole grain toast slathered up with homemade strawberry jam…. SO good. You could also use these as filling in a breakfast burrito, or add a side of fruit or juice. Or just eat it right out of the bowl in comes in – you really can’t go wrong here ladies.
