These are a Few of My Favorite Things…. & I’m Giving them All to You!

If you don’t, well, please take a minute to educate and entertain yourself – My Favorite Things, Sound of Music. I’ve sang this song since I was a little girl, and love singing it to my own little girl now :) So, of course when I heard that some of my absolute best-est bloggy girlfriends wanted to get together and give away our own favorite things – I jumped in right away! We all went shopping and picked out some of our fave stuff, created prize packages, and are giving them away to you guys just in time for the holidays! I had SO many darn ideas when I started thinking up what to buy to give you guys. I at first thought crafty – cool supplies to DIY your own Homemade Gifts. I thought about buying a bunch of my fave Sephora finds. {Goodness knows I love me some Sephora.} But I finally decided on getting you a few of my very favorite holiday goodies for the kitchen – since for most of us, whether you’re a foodie or not, holidays mean time spent with family in the kitchen. • I used the free printable Favorite Things graphic to make a fun gift bag to contain all of the goodies I bought. {Find more inspiration on my Homemade Gifts Rock board, too.}
• I bought a copy of my new fave book, from one of my fave bloggers – The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays: 140 Step-by-Step Recipes for Simple, Scrumptious Celebrations. It is seriously jam-packed with amazing inspiration, tutorials, recipes, and ideas that will take you through the whole year in style. Seriously. She rocks.
• I loved this Red & Black Holiday Apron SOOOO dang much once it arrived that I ordered a second one for myself! It’s so pretty, really well made, flattering with the nipped-in shape and ruffles, and a great deal. Love-love. Plus, I’m just an apron-junkie, I admit :) I feel so much more skilled and in control with a pretty apron on – and when guest arrive, they assume I’m a pro in the kitchen if I’m wearing an awesome apron. That’s my secret, lol.
• I picked up the holiday copy of Every Day with Rachel Ray, who is one of my serious girl-crushes. There are so many things I love about her – she’s not a skinny-mini, and embraces her love of food. She’s cute and funny and bubbly, and be damned all those critics who say it makes her look “stupid.” No, it makes her fun. And she’s built an empire on that love of realness and positivity, which is what I hope to do someday too. So, I had to include my fave holiday mag of the season!
• You’ll find a great oven mitt, filled with gadgets. There’s an OXO mini-whisk, which is awesome for small things – I swear it’s the only way to whip up pudding, and I love it to make scrambled eggs. I also added a set of tools from Sur la Table – they’re silicone on stainless steel, and you’ll adore them.
• There are two packages of Sixlets, holiday style, in baking decoration containers. One is blue, white, and silver – the other in silver, red, and white. They’d be adorable on any type of cookies, cakes, or other fun Christmas treats you have in mind!
• I also included a Hershey’s bar in White Chocolate Peppermint – the jumbo style one. This is one of my FAVE treats this time of year… Not only is it delish on it’s own, it’s so good to chop up and top other goodies with too.
• I threw in a Wilton Snowflake Comfort Grip Cookie Cutter, since these are my fave style of cookie cutters, especially when you have little helpers like I do. {This no slip style helps kiddos hold on and control them amazingly better, I swear.} And the snowflake design is one that I don’t have, so it was fun to buy for YOU!
• While shopping at Safeway the other day, I saw a great little kit in the baking aisle – so I picked one of up for this prize package, for those of you who don’t already have cake/cooking decorating supplies. It includes a set of icing bags, and some of the best tips to make your holiday baking pretty as can be.
• And, I of course included a package of 6 rolls of Baker’s Twine so you can wrap and tie up any fun baking goodies and gifts in style too! Love this stuff lately.
