“Moooooooooom, what’s for dinner?” – Isn’t that the worst thing to hear at the end of a long day? Well – I’m here to rescue you. Just call me the supper time super hero. I’ve joined forces with some other amazing bloggers {and our group is growing every week!} to bring you a new 15 minute supper recipe, every single Friday. Yep, a home cooked meal on the table in 15 minutes or less, from prep to serve. This week was a theme week – Macaroni and Cheese.
Sure, Mac ‘n Cheese sounds like a super easy recipe, right? But – the only way I’ve ever cooked it is either from a box, or in the oven. And baking takes a bit longer than 15 minutes. So I asked around, got a few suggestions, and put together this super yummy Mac ‘n Cheese recipe featuring two of my favorite things – pepper, and bacon – in just 15 minutes, on the stove top. And it was delish! Hope you enjoy :)
Here’s a closer look…. Nom nom nom. See all that ooey gooey cheesy goodness, combined with some thick bacon crumbles, and sprinkled with coarse black pepper and fresh grated parmesan? Perfect to please both kids and adults. And so easy!
Ingredients
- 2 cups hot water
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbs butter
- 2 cups noodles - your choice
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Velvetta cheese
- Coarse ground pepper - I used about 5 shakes. Add to your taste.
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled. {I used premium bacon bits to save time.}
- Freshly shredded parmesan cheese, for topping.
Instructions
- Get a big skillet. Add water, milk, butter, and your noodles, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat down to medium, and stir it regularly. Let it cook at medium heat for about 7-8 minutes, depending on what type of noodle you're using.
- Once noodles are done, add your cheeses and pepper, and stir to mix and melt the cheese. Once cheese is melted, mix in the bacon too.
- Now, scoop up big helpings into bowls, and top with a bit more bacon, and some shredded parmesan cheese. Enjoy!

This looks delicious. Easy enough to take place of that gross hamburger helper!
That looks so perfect for a weekday evening meal and so comforting! Delish!
I love this recipe. Ingenuity in the kitchen is part of what being a super mom is about. I change up my baked mac & cheese recipe a lot – but I’ve not tried to adjust on top of the stove. I’m definitely trying this.
Looks delicious! I love tasty and quick/easy meals! Thanks for sharing!
Heavenly combo….Bacon and anything. :)
I love simple meals. We use the shredded premium bacon for lots of things as well, it’s awesome and tastes so good!
