“Pretty much all the honest truth telling in the world is done by children.” – Oliver Wendell… Ah…. Motherhood. Kids are such a blessing – and SUCH a challenge at the same time, right? And this quote is so true – kids do fib, of course. But most of the time, they are honest to a fault. You can learn a lot listening to their thoughts, questions, and observations. So when you hear that there’s a new diaper brand called The Honest Co., what do you think? For me – I hoped to find a simplified way to buy affordable, eco-friendly, good quality diapers that worked well. {Meaning no leaks or nonsense, you know?} Is that what I found with The Honest Co.? Find out…
Who is THe HOnest Co.?
Honest products are not only designed to be safe and sustainable, but beautiful, fresh, and fun. And for me as a busy mom – this is important. Yes, I want products that do their job – but I also like it when they can look pretty doing it. The designs at Honest Co. are inspired by our everyday lives, modern shapes, rich colors, multi-cultural inspirations, and fashion insiders and artists like Alexander McQueen, Banksy, and Murakami. What’s not to like, right?
You can learn more about The Honest Co. from Jessica Alba by visiting their site online: The Honest Company.
The Honest Co. is a collaberation between parents Jessica Alba and Chris Gavigan – who were utterly frustrated trying to find the perfect products for their babies and homes that they were looking for. This company grew from a passion for social goodness, tied with a bow of integrity and sprinkled with a little cheeky fun. Perfect, right?
What do you get in the Free Diapers Bundle from The Honest Co.?
I wasn’t sure what to expect when trying out this kit from The Honest Co. I’ve not had a ton of luck with any of the brands that work this way – You get a free kit to try out, but you have to enter in your credit card info to get it. Why? Because if you like it, they’ll continue sending you new kits each month. Sometimes this is a hassle – if you only wanted the freebie, if you don’t like the products, etc. But – I’ve been a member of many clubs like this over the years: DVD’s, book clubs, CD’s, you name it. When it’s a product that you love – or need, like diapers – it can really simplify life, and be a big money-saver. So what did I think of my diaper kit from The Honest Co.? Loved it.
Why I love The Honest Co. Diaper Kits
We got the package in the mail a couple of weeks ago. It included an assortment of diapers in super cute patterns and prints that I’d chosen when ordering – and they were even cuter in real life then in the pics. Our package included 7 diapers, plus their awesomesauce wipes. I loved the look right away – but then had to put them to the real test – on a toddler. Here are my pros and cons:
- Pro: Suprisingly, they fit Abby so well. I have a 2 year old that’s the size of most of my friend’s 4 year olds. She’s a chunky one. Almost all of the diapers we’ve tried don’t cover her big baby booty. These are cut really generous in the backside – so if you’ve got a chunky toddler who’s used to her/his butt cheeks hanging out, this is for you. And even if you’re lucky enough to have a baby who fits regular diapers well, having a little extra room to wrap around that booty is NEVER a bad thing! {Less leaks.}
- Con: I did have a little bit of trouble keeping these diapers hooked onto Abby. I’m not sure if I was putting them on wrong – but the tabs gave me a tiny bit of trouble the first few times. After that – I realized they attach slightly different than the ones I’m used to, but they work fine when I get them reached around right.
- Pro: They hold a LOT! The first time Abby wore one of these was on a road trip to Seattle Children’s Hospital {for her seizures, that we’ve been going there for regularly} – ONE of these made it all the way there, and through a full testing period, and she was still dry. We’re about 3 hours from Seattle, and always make at least one bathroom break on the way. We got to Seattle late and didn’t have time to change – I had thought we’d have a mess on our hands. Nope – these diapers held it all! Amazing.
There are a lot of extras that are important to me – style, eco-conscious, budget-friendly – but the main thing that matters to me as an uber-busy mom is performance. And these diapers WORK. The adorable prints you can choose when you order are just a bonus. The total convenience of an automated monthly shipment {which is just what I was doing on Amazon before I found this site} is another bonus. The fact that they’re also eco-friendly is icing on top. This is a service and brand that I can’t recommend enough…

The Honest Company was started by a mom and a dad who, like many modern parents, were increasingly worried about products made with questionable chemical ingredients. But the alternatives they found were often expensive, inaccessible, bland, or ineffective. In response to this clear need for something better, they created The Honest Company to ensure that parents (or anyone for that matter!) could easily find natural and non-toxic eco-friendly products that are beautiful, effective, and affordable. From customized product bundles to diapers and wipes to an ever-expanding line of cleaning and personal care products, you can find everything you need at Honest.com and have it delivered directly to your front door.
