The system works on rough or smooth surfaces and directly over grout lines. Additionally the mounting system was designed to be reversible and can be removed if needed with no damage to the surface. The system has been tested to ASTM F446 specifications for “Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Grab Bars and Accessories Installed in the Bathing Area” and is rated at 250lbs.
