Let’s Dress Up: Barbie Kids Fall Fashion Show

Girls just wanna have fun…. Almost every little girl loves pretty new clothes, right? A new dress to swish around in, or a pretty shirt with bows and sparkles, make any day a little more special. {Even for me….} So when Abby and I got a package in the mail, and found a BIG box of goodies from the new Barbie line of fashions for little girls, we were super excited to check it all out. I’ve always been a total girly girl – and while Abby does love playing with dinosaurs and dump trucks too, she’s a sucker just like momma for some accessories and ruffly things. Love it. If you’ve got a little princess on your hands too – you’ve got to check out the new Barbie fall gear – we’re lovin’ it.

barbie fashions for girls

“A girl must be two things – Classy, and fabulous.” – Coco Chanel

Here’s a little peek at the adorableness of these new fashions – Every piece is really well made, and great attention to detail. Fun fabric bows, pretty puffed sleeves on the tees, lots of sparkles, ruffles, rhinestones, and pink. We were hooked right away! It’ll be totally easy to find all of this great gear too – It’s available at Walmart, and runs from $5-$14.99, and is in sizes 2T-5T.

The Barbie™ branded collection includes fashion sets of tops, tunics, skirts or leggings that feature playful details girls love like ruffles, fun prints and sparkly finishes. The collection also includes iconic graphic tees featuring glam embellishments like bows and sequins.

I didn’t see these yet when I shopped our local Walmart yesterday, but they should be arriving soon. You can also find some adorable choices at Amazon… check out the super cute Barbie Kids Clothes there. {Plus, most qualify for free shipping – and there are loads of fall clickable coupons on Amazon right now too.} And – if you want to see more, check out Abby showing off her new outfits in the video. I’ve been super sick {just found out that I have Whooping Cough, oh my!} – But I managed to get a couple clips and pics of her swirling and twirling around the kitchen. I love how new clothes always make you want to dance…

“Kids: they dance before they learn there is anything that isn’t music.” – William Stafford

Abby just turned two, and in the past couple weeks, has gotten really interested in helping me pick out her clothes in the morning. If I don’t pick the “right” things, she’ll try to take them off all morning – and end up running wild in just a diaper and sandals, lol. She was SO super excited about these new tees that they are now a total go-to in the mornings. {So as soon as I find them at a local shop, I’ll be stocking up on more – Let me know if you’ve seen them!} I figured that since she loved them so much, these might help some of you other busy mommas who have a bit of a morning getting-dressed challenge too – try these, and I betcha your little one will love ’em too!

How Buying Your Daughter a New Dress Can Help Others….

“You’re never too little to make a big difference.” – Who’s Little… I love having a little girl. I’ve always loved princesses, and sparkles, and frills and bows and polka dots… Yes, my name is Meagan, and I’m a girly girl. I would spend hours playing dress up with my dolls when I was little, and I always longed for a sister. But no – I was stuck with, er, I mean blessed with 3 brothers instead. When I found out that I was expecting, I hoped for a girl, but honestly – I was sure it would be a boy. I grew up with all brothers, and mostly boy cousins. All of my friends had boys. Even our dog had all boy puppies. I was starting to wonder if babies even still came in girl? The day that I found out that the baby I’d seen waving at me on the ultrasound screen was a GIRL, that was priceless. And even better, I got lucky and have a little girl who loves sparkles and ruffles just as much as I do. And that is even more priceless. So – now knowing that background, you’ll understand why I am so totally in love with this new clothing line that I’ve just discovered, called Who’s Little? Check it out…

Who's Little Girls Fashions

About Who’s Little?

“Picture a little girl twirling in a new dress, and you’ll come to fully understand the phrase, “You’re only young once.” The twirls – which are usually accompanied by giggles and smiles (and possibly a dance step or two) – mark a fleeting moment in every young girls life. While putting on an outfit holds a certain charm no matter your age, nothing quite measures up to the joy found in the full skirts, bright colors, and girly details of our memories.” – That lovely line of thinking is what led the founder to create Who’s Little? – a line that she describes as “unapologetically sweet,” that works to capture that sweet youthful innocence and joy before kids grow up into teens and beyond. The line is separated into three size and style runs – 0-24 months, 2-6, and 7-10 years old, and I love that all of the cute fashions are totally age appropriate. {Unlike some of the stuff I’ve seen marketed towards kids lately.} Since capturing those sweet moments with Abby is the most important thing in the world to me, this company is total perfection for us.

little girls garden fashion

“In every gardener there is a child who believes in The Seed Fairy.” – Robert Brault

Abby and I love to spend the day out in the garden. When she’s out there helping me dig, and plant, and tend to the flowers and the new veggie plants, she needs clothes that are comfy and cool. So – how excited was I when I received this super cute little jumper from Who’s Little?? It’s a lightweight cotton so she stays cool, it’s loose and easy to move in – but the details and fabric make it simply as cute as can be. I wish it came in my size :) It’s just one easy piece that pulls on and ties at the neck, and has two fun little pockets on each side that are trimmed in a contrasting fabric. Abby LOVED picking flowers to put in her pockets. So sweet.

little girls fashion line that gives back

“You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt.” – Author Unknown

While Abby and I absolutely loved this sweet little summer jumper for the style and comfort – there are more reasons to fall in love with Who’s Little? – The One Girl, One Dress Project helps give back to girls in need with every dress purchased from their site. I am such a huge fan of this type of giving – as she mentions, it’s similar to what Tom’s shoes does… Each pair of Tom’s shoes purchased means a donation of a second pair to someone who needs it. This helps people feel more involved and connected to charitable causes, which I love. And… Yes, donating a dress to a child living in poverty isn’t going to solve all of her problems. But as a little girl who grew up extremely poor, I know what it’s like to get the bare minimum to get by, and not often get luxuries. A beautiful dress can make any of us feel transformed, and it’s a pretty special thing for a little girl who seldom gets something new like that. So when you shop for fun fashions for your own little girl, you can smile knowing that you’re bringing happiness to another little girl too.

“I base most of my fashion sense on what doesn’t itch.” – Gilda Radner

Everyone loves popping onto a website and seeing something like this, right? The big ol’ red clearance notice rocks. And unlike a lot of sites that advertise prices up to 90% off, but only have two items at that type of discount that are probably already sold out – Cookies Kids has seriously sweet deals, and a huge selection. Like my fave recent find – check out this absolutely gorgeous summer dress in a beautiful fabric and print – that I got for $3.99. Seriously. {See my whole shopping trip on Google+.}

Wow. And it’s really nice quality – the fabric feels really lush, and the details are awesome – I love the little ruffled neckline, so pretty. And, since Cookies Kids makes it super easy to find what you’re looking for with their great search tools, it’s easy to find all the other super discounted dresses like this too! Again, it’s super easy to search for what you need – whether it’s socks, hair bands, purses, sunglasses, backpacks, or adorable sparkly Laura Ashley toddler sandals. So pretty. {Ignore Abby’s badly painted toenails…. Lol.} They also have great rainboots, super fun sneakers, and a great selection of infant shoes too. I always use the search buttons to narrow down the shoes by size and price too, to find the best deals available.

little miss polka dot fashions

To show you how easy it is to put together a whole look with great pieces from Cookies Kids, to dress your kids adorable while still being affordable – I put together this outfit on my Polyvore page, with my fave fashions for little girls this summer. I love, love, love this look. And I’m amazed that you can get such a great bunch of pieces for SO cheap. {We bought all of these pieces except for the jacket that was out of stock in Abby’s size. I’m hoping they get more…} Here’s what we got if you want to check them out too: Another Penelope Mack dress, $6.99. The Laura Ashley sandals I showed you above, $9.99. The super adorable Hello Kitty headband set, $4.99 for a two pack. Adorably trendy toddler sunglasses from Eye Candy for $4.99. That’s $26.96 for a full outfit that’s sure to please any little princess in your life. If you’re in the mood for a little splurge, add this amazing Guess jacket inspired by Rizzo from Grease, for $39.99. SO fun. I would wear this whole outfit. For reals.

  • Refer a Friend: This is a fun way to share your new fave shopping site with your friends. You get a personalized link that you can share with friends and family, that gives them a bonus on their first shopping trip. Then, you get $10 in store credit when they make their first purchase! {Trust me, after you shop here once, you’ll be super excited to share the sweet deals.}
  • Clearance tab: If you’re not quite sure which category you want to shop, just use the Clearance tab up top to go straight to a big selection of the lowest priced deals available.

Super cute fashions, great quality pieces, and amazingly low prices. This is one of my go-to sites when we need to update Abby’s wardrobe, every time. And with Back-to-School season coming quick, I wanted to make sure you guys knew about this great resource for stocking up without breaking the budget. And – if you need ’em, they have a whole Uniform Store section too.

About Cookies Kids

In 1972, a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens, fixed it up, bought inventory and Summer and Fall, and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys. The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children’s clothing for the next season. When that did well, they bought more clothing. The business was on it’s way. As the brothers Cookie, Marvin and Sonny, who had come in as a third partner in the business, began to open new stores in new locations, inventory expanded. Besides the latest fashions, our customers wanted shoes, toys, backpacks and accessories and we were prepared to deliver. By the late 1990’s there were six superstores throughout the NYC area, and though they previously had different names, by that time they were all named Cookie’s Kids. Also in the late ’90s came an important addition to Cookie’s Kids’ inventory: school uniforms. It was the steady success in uniform sales that paved the way for founding CookiesKids.com in 2007, which originally sold uniforms and soon after the entire Cookie’s Kids Inventory.
