Stop – It’s Blogathon Time!!

This is now the seventh Biannual Blogathon Bash, and I think I’ve participated in more than half of them. At first as an attendee, and now again as a co-host. I have loved the idea of the Blogathon since I first heard of it – it’s super motivating! Not only is it a time to set aside to work on your blog – learn new things, and work on past-due projects – but it also makes all of that work fun! There are prizes to win, which is always a bonus. There’s a free blogging planner printable for everyone who links up and participates. But the best part is having a whole team of people working along with you – to answer questions, give advice, and network with. I hope you’ll join us too!

How to Join the Blogathon Bash:

Check out the intro post here:  January Biannual Blogathon Bash. That’ll give you more information on everything that’s going on, if you’re new to the Blogathon. Then write up a quick kick-off post {doesn’t have to be as long as mine… I always talk too much :)} and link it up on the linky in that intro post. Just share what you’re goals and plans are for the weekend, easy peasy! It’s a nice way to hold yourself accountable, since you’re writing it down. Plus, it helps bring more people to join the Blogathon fun too. Here are some of my personal blogging goals: [Read more…]

It’s Blogathon Time! #Blogathon2

Biannual Blogathon Bash It’s Blogathon time! If you’re not familiar with the Biannual Blogathon Bash, you can learn more about what it’s all about on their site. It’s a big bloggy party, that happens twice a year – there are challenges to complete, a Facebook group to network and ask questions, Twitter parties to join, and prizes to win! It’s a weekend to set aside as much time as possible, and put some work into learning, growing, and building your blog. It’s an awesome way to make work more fun.

My Blogathon Goals:

  • I want to complete every single one of the mini-challenges this time. I’ve never been able to quite get through all of them, but have more time set aside this time.
  • I’d like to do some work on my new site. I started MeaganPaullin.com to be a place to share tips related to blogging, online business, and balancing it all – it’s got a theme, and that’s about it, lol. I want to at least get the sidebar widgets all set up, and a basic About page before Sunday night.
  • Visit all of the other bloggers who are participating. I’m one of the co-hosts for this event {I just love me some Blogathon!} – and want to make some time to connect with everyone else who’s joining the fun.

Not a long list, but a good list. And there are eleven mini-challenges to complete, so that should give me a lot to do! I’ve made it to two super-fun Twitter parties so far {you can read some of the great tips that have been shared so far by searching out the #Blogathon2 hashtag} – and am excited for another one tonight. If you want to jump in and join us in the Blogathon fun, there’s still plenty of time! Write a quick kick-off post to share your own goals, then link up with us and jump in! You’re blog will thank you for it :)

15 Clever New Ways to Bring Traffic to Your Blog

Quick background about me – I’ve been blogging for 3 years now, full time. I started this bloggy-adventure with the goal of it being a business – a way for me to make money from home while being here with my brand new baby. I have poured crazy amounts of time, effort, money, and heart into growing this site. I’ve read a zillion books, subscribe to a million email newsletters, follow a babillion sites – all just to keep growing, learning, and moving ahead. But, all that work has paid off { I was able to quadruple my traffic last year!} – since now The Mister works for me, and together we run this site, plus some other projects – together, and it allows us to both work from home. I’m extremely passionate about helping others do the same thing, so I hope that if you’re a newer blogger, these tips can help you ramp up your own business too! If you have questions, comments, ideas, or any other feedback – feel free to leave a comment on this post, tweet me using the #Blogathon2 hashtag, or post it to my Facebook wall.
