Thank you to JOHNSON’S Baby for partnering with me to share some awesome #favbabyfirsts with you guys in a compensated post. Hope you enjoy – and I hope you share your own too!
Ahhhhhh…. Motherhood. A burden and a blessing. Almost all good stuff though – right? Except for “those days,” … I know you know what I mean <3 There are so many “firsts” that are absolutely wonderous to behold – first words, first steps, seeing them grow into kiddos that discover new things. But there are also so many “firsts” that are exhausting – they learn to speak so they can back talk you, they walk so they can run away from you, they discover things they have no business messing with… It’s a huge process of love and frustration. But so totally worth it.
To celebrate these firsts, and the wonder and joy of being a mother, JOHNSON’S Baby has a campaign called #FavBabyFirsts – which is all about sharing your most special first memories of your little one. To kickstart it, they invited me, and a couple of other awesome mom bloggers – Crazy Adventures in Parenting, and That Chic Mom – to join a live Google+ Hangout with the absolutely lovely and down to earth Tammin Sursok from Pretty Little Liars. It was kind of surreal to chat with someone who’s a celeb like that, with my hair in a messy bun and totally not prepared, lol. But it was awesome that as we chatted, you can see that no matter who you are – all moms go through these SAME types of feelings when you have a baby. I’ve always found that so beautiful and amazing. Check it out:
I’m the one in the yellow sweater. Don’t judge :) But it’s an awesome example of how we’re all in the same boat – we all go through the same things, becoming a mom is crazy for everyone, celebrity or not. No matter how young or old, planned or unexpected, rich or poor, working or stay at home… first time motherhood is a wonderously crazy adventure for us all.
When Abby was born – 4+ years ago, I had NO clue what I was doing. I didn’t have many friends or family to help at the time, and wasn’t sure how to reach out. I has never planned to be a mom. So I had never paid attention to parenting advice. I remember the stress of trying to rock her for hours in her little bouncy chair at night, rock her in our big chair, sing songs…. Being a first time mom is so overwhelming at times. But it goes by SO fast.
I look back at baby pictures, and can hardly believe she was ever that small. So, having some helpful people, advice, websites, and products around can make a huge difference. They’ll help you figure out how to handle challenges faster, so you can focus on the important stuff – all of those tiny, beautiful, meaningful moments.
Which is why we should celebrate everyone’s #FavBabyFirsts – all of the amazing firsts that make you feel like you’re doing it right.
Give yourself a pat on the back. The best bit of advice I ever had about becoming a mom was – “If you’re worried about it, you’re already doing something right. If you care, then you’re there.” So – join our fun celebration of motherhood, and share your own photos, advice, memories, and stories across social media using the hashtag #FavBabyFirsts. I’d LOVE to hear from you guys!
And…. To make this celebration of motherhood and your baby’s first moments even more fun – I’m giving away a fantastic bundle of products to help pamper your little one! Use the Rafflecopter entry form below to enter to win – complete as many or few entries as you want, but the more you do, the more chances you have to win! Have fun and good luck :)
