Today I made my Sweet’N Low Pumpkin Spice Cocktail as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #SweetNLowStars.
I love fall. Honestly, as much as I love summer and pool parties – fall is really my favorite time of year. I love hoodies, boots, crisp and cool weather, apples, {I’m in central Washington, apple capital of the world, pretty much.} I love how fall is like, the gateway to the super-fun holiday season. And I love the foods and flavors – especially anything pumpkin-y.
So, since I love this time of year, and do a lot of entertaining, I wanted to create a new drink for our fall celebrations. Something totally delicious, fall-flavored, and of course – find a way to shave a few calories off of a party drink too. Check it out – my Pumpkin Spice Cocktail! #Ohmyheckyum
There really should be more of the Sweet’N Low-plus-spices combo around the rim of this glass, I’m not gonna lie. I’m sure you all know how to “rim” a glass with salt or sugar? You get it wet – water, lime, lemon, etc – depending on what type of drink you’re making. Then dip it into the salt/sugar mixture. Well, this plastic glass, which I totally wanted to use because it’s kind of awesome :) – didn’t want to let the sugar mixture stick. But I’m sure your real glass-glass’s at home will work way better. I know this because I’ve never had this problem before. But even with a smaller amount of the Sweet’N Low mix around the edge than I’d wanted, it was still awesome.
So – to get started, you mix a little bit of brown sugar with some Sweet’N Low. Using Sweet’N Low instead of sugar keeps it more low-cal. Mix it up together in a bowl, and add a tiny bit of cinnamon, then set aside until you’re ready to finish up your drink. When you are ready, wet the rim of the glass with water, then dab it into the bowl of the mix, to rim it.
Now let’s get the party started, yo! :) Pour a full bottle of any type of pumpkin beer into a glass. Sound weird in a cocktail? Seriously – I don’t even drink beer, hardly ever, but this rocks. Pinky promise. {We used the Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat beer for our drink.} After adding the Sweet’N Low/brown sugar mix to the rim of the glass, and pouring in the pumpkin beer, the next step is to add a shot of flavored vodka. I used fluffed marshmallow, but you could use any type of vanilla-ish vodka. Any of them will give you that great fall flavor – pumpkin, spice, and vanilla. Perfect. And as you drink, sip from different sides of the glass, so you get that awesome Sweet’N Low and spice flavor in every sip! Seriously – this tastes perfectly like fall.

I love everything pumpkin so this sounds awesome! I would have never even thought to combine the vodka and beer but I’m kind of curious now :)
Meagan, I just want to know where you got that awesome looking wheat beer glass with the skull on it!!!!
I got it last year at Target – bought a few of them. Aren’t they cool? Love it! :)
That is a cool print on the plastic glass though. Would love it in real glass.
