A variety of Celestial Seasonings samples and compensation was received in exchange for this post. But all opinions are mine, like always.
“Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson… As moms, we all know that we need more “me time,” right? But in between running our households, running our businesses, running around for a boss, or running around after kids – there’s not a whole lot of time to devote to ourselves. Which is why I totally treasure those small moments of peace I get each day. I try – key word, *try* – to add some small routines into my daily schedule that allow me a little bit of me time every day.
I used to think I had a busy life, back in my “previous life”. I worked management in retail, while also doing displays and fashion merchandising. And of course, selling. I had long, crazy hours. I never stood still, all day – not at work, as I ran non-stop to keep everything running, or after work, as I had a crazy-full social life. Work hard – play hard, that was how I lived. But that was nothing compared to what my life is like now – Homeowner, Mother, Business Owner. Ohmyheck. I’ve never faced so much stress, or had so many things in life depending on me to ensure that they get taken care of.
So, to keep my sanity I savor those small moments I talked about earlier. Like, ending the day with a bubble bath. I’m a lucky lady – I have a big Jacuzzi tub, with lots of soothing jets. So I pour in some bubbles, and add a soothing addition like this Tub Tea. I soak for as long as I can, wrap up in a super plush monogrammed bathrobe, then spray the sheets with my “Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist” to help me relax even more and get some rest. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to get an hour to myself – sometimes it’s more like 15 minutes. Either way, I make the most of it.
And, it’s not just that “Tub Tea” that I love – I love other types of tea too. And if we’re talking evening wind-down-from-your-hectic-day kind of tea, then we’re talking Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Herb Tea. No matter how stressful my day was, no matter if I get time for a bath or not, a cup of Sleepytime Tea totally relaxes me and helps me drift off to dreamland – no lie. I also enjoy a cup of tea in the early morning hours – watching the sunrise, sipping my tea, while working on my laptop on the back patio. But we all have different ways of getting “me time,” right? Here are a few facts to ponder:
- Creative Escapes. More than 80 percent of women have gone elsewhere to find sanctuary, including retreating to the bedroom (most popular), heading to the bathroom, vacating their property for a friend or family member’s house, hanging out in the car and even finding a spot in the garage.
- Prioritizing Me Over Us. Two thirds of women surveyed say they would rather go without sex than “me time”.
- White Lies. Pretending to feel sick or to already have plans are two common excuses used by the 75 percent of women who have fibbed for the sake of “me time.”
- Almost Equal Time. Who has more “me time” – mom or dad? More than half of moms in a relationship feel their significant other does a better job incorporating “me time” into daily life.
- On any given day: 42 percent of women surveyed have less than an hour of time for themselves including the majority of moms surveyed.
To help remedy this, Celestial Seasonings is taking the month of October to celebrate taking time for “me time” each day. The brand team hears regularly (via social media and focus groups) that women associate their tea time with their “me time.” Since it’s clear this is important to many of Celestial’s fans, the brand has decided to encourage fans to take time for themselves each day through the October Facebook promotion. I think that this is an awesome way to support busy women like us. And I want to use it as an excuse to tell you ladies – If you’re not taking time for yourself, ever, then DO IT. Starting this moment. You know the old saying, you can’t take care of everyone else if you don’t take care of yourself first, right? :)
And – Celestial Seasons wants to give you an extra incentive for finding “me time.” Submit a photo of your “me time” moments to be entered to win some great prizes. You can enter here, on their Facebook Page. {And, if you want to share your fun tea time is me time photos on my Facebook page, I’d love to see them too!} They’re giving away $200 gift cards to places like Crate & Barrel every week, along with gift baskets of Celestial Seasonings Teas. The grand prize, which will be given out at the end of October, is a trip for two to New York City, tea at The Plaza Hotel, and $500 in spending money. I guarantee that will give you some good “me time” :)
And more – I’m giving away a Celestial Seasonings gift basket to one of you awesome readers too! Why? Well, because I love you. And Celestial Seasonings loves you too. And because we both want you to break away from your usual routine, carve out some minutes of peacefullness in your day, and enjoy your favorite tea. So use the easy peasy Rafflecopter form below to enter, have fun, and good luck!
I find me time by waking up early to sneak in my me time – when its quiet
I find me time by going fishing
When the weather is good, I take a book and glass of iced tea out to a lounge chair on the deck.
I encourage everyone to have ‘me’ time. We can all quietly read our own book, listen to our own music and respect each other’s me time. It’s a wonderful thing to teach your children to be considerate of others. While encouraging kids to have a mutual time where we each quietly do something is a learning process, I get up early and enjoy my coffee, read the paper and get things organized before the rest of the household crawls out of bed. Also before bed, I always take time to read a few chapters in the quiet of the bedroom
by reading a book with a cup of tea
I read a book in a hot bubble bath with a glass of wine! Like 4 times a week. I need a lot of me-time!
I like to soak in a nice hot bath with a good book and some hot tea and some music on after a long day. Thank you for the give away and have a very Happy Halloween!
Nice hot showers after my toddlers bedtime and while my newborn sleeps
I spend me time by hanging out with my ducks.
I get up early before everyone else in the morning and I am the last to go to bed of a night. That way I have several ours a day of time to myself for me time.

I go hide in the shower with some nice smelling body wash and use up all the hot water! lol
Yard work has always helped me find me time.
