Growing up with Caillou… If you’re mom to a toddler, odds are that you are a big fan of Caillou – the little boy who explores, discovers, and shares his adventures in growing up – each day on PBS and the Sprout channel. My little girl absolutely adores him. And, once I took some time to watch the cartoons with her, and saw the great messages and lessons that each episode teaches little ones, I loved it too. So, when I had the chance to check out one of the newest Caillou toys for bath time – Well, I don’t know who was more excited – me, or Abby…. :)
“Mothers are like glue. Even when you can’t see them, they’re still holding the family together.” – Susan Gale… It’s almost that time ladies – the time of year where we get a little bit of extra appreciation for what we do. For changing diapers, shuttling kids to soccer practice, learning which clothing brands are “cool” enough for your kids, and actually splurging on them from time to time… You know, all of the things we do to help our family be happy, healthy, and running smoothly. So, don’t we deserve a perk once in awhile?
I’m super excited to share some great gardening tips with you guys today - I’m a sponsored blog partner with Pennington and am participating in their Pennington Smart Feed Program campaign. So I’ll be sharing some of the products we use to kick off the garden for spring, and keep it rockin’ all the way through until fall. And if you’re a newbie gardener, don’t worry – I’m no pro either. But I’m learning as I go what works and what doesn’t, with some guidance from my amazing Master Gardener mother. First, let me show you a little of what I’m working with…
Save, snap, and donate – that’s what you can do this month with the help of Johnson & Johnson… You know that I am a BIG fan of brands that give back, right? I love to see powerful people use that influence to do positive things. And I love using my voice as a blogger to share causes that I’m passionate about. And one campaign this spring that I think you’ll love too is from Johnson & Johnson – they’re helping you save big on the spring supplies you need this month, while also giving you a really fun way to help support some incredibly worthy causes. Check it out:
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” - Margaret Atwood… Ah, spring. Seriously, one of my favorite times of year. I live in central Washington, where we have four VERY distinct seasons – so spring brings a wonderful break from the snowy cold of winter. And, it means it’s time to get the garden going again! Abby adores helping grandma and I plant flowers and dig in the dirt… I actually just bought her a little Garden Playhouse, since she loves grandma’s planting shed so much. But, while we love working in the dirt, and transforming a big patch of it into something beautiful and full of color – I don’t really want us all to smell like dirt at the end of the day….
For one week, you can join me and a few other amazing bloggers as we create a new recipe each day, featuring our favorite Eggo waffles, to celebrate the Great Waffle Off contest from Eggo Waffles! We’ll be “thinking outside the box” to come up with cool ideas to use Eggo’s in new ways – from breakfast to dessert, and everything in between!
