Bloggertunities: Over 20 New Opps, Tips, and Resources

This post contains some affiliate links that help to support this site. But I only share and recommend things I use myself and love.

Grow your blog – Get more blog traffic, earn more money with your blog, and connect with new people… Hi all! Welcome to another weekly Bloggertunities post – a round-up of the best blogging tips, tools, leads, opps, and events of the week. I hope you’ll find some helpful stuff – and if you do, be sure to share it!

Bloggertunities are back!

Many of you will remember my weekly Bloggertunities posts that I used to share every Wednesday evening – I know you do, because so many of you email me asking me where they’ve been :) Well, I decided awhile ago to start a handful of new blogs, so that I could separate out the content that I was posting here – So, by the end of October, MeaganPaullin.com will finally be live, and that’s where I’ll start regularly sharing blogging and online business tips. I can’t wait – I’m super excited about it! But, since so many people have been asking, and I’m finally over some of the craziness of summer travel, I’ll be posting them here again until that site is ready. They’ll now be every Tuesday – hope you enjoy!

Reviews and Sponsored Opps

  • Hamilton Beach Product Ambassadors: Sign up to join their product ambassador team here – Hamilton Beach Ambassador sign up. You can learn more about how their program works, including guidelines and requirements on their ambassador information page.
  • Hershey’s Halloween: If you’re a member of Global Influence, you can apply for a fun Halloween themed opp from Hershey’s – you’ll get product to create with, plus a payment via PayPal for your work. If you’re not a member yet, sign up here.
  • Mom’s Meet: This isn’t a blogging review exactly – but I do sometimes share the products I try here on the site, just because they’re really good stuff. Right now, if you’re a Mom’s Meet Ambassador {if not, sign up on their site} – apply to sample a new organic soup starter , with a group of friends such as a mom or playdate group. They send you enough product for everyone to try it out, then you just fill out some feedback later online. Easy peasy, and a great way to try healthy goodies. They also sometimes offer blog posting projects as well.
  • Sponsored Posts: Here’s a post of over 20 networks you can join to find more sponsored post opps – all sites that I have used myself. The more networks and sites that you join, the more options you’ll have for finding the right opportunities to fit your unique blog.

Cool ebooks, courses, and downloads

  • Free PR tool kit: This is pretty cool – It’s from Ladies Who Launch, a site I love. Click to enter your email and get access to the PR tool kit, and tons of other free resources and materials. Really good stuff.
  • Freelance Writing: This is a great site – sign up to get free access to Marketing 101 for Freelance Writers, a 20-week online course that will go directly into your email inbox, to do at your own pace. It’s a great way to learn tips to increase the income you earn with your freelance writing. {Looking for an easy site to get started with more writing? Check out Examiner.com. I have two columns there, and am able to promote my own posts on them too, like this example: 8 Frugal Fall Recipes. You get paid for your page views on Examiner, while also sometimes directing traffic back to your blog. Win-win.}
  • Free stock photos: You can get 160 free business-themed stock photos here, and then another 75 free stock photos here. These are from HubSpot, and cover things like meetings, office supply shots, mobile and computers, “working hard” – things that are business related.

Make Money Blogging

  • Sponsored Tweets: I don’t make a ton of money here, but what I do make is easy as cake. Just choose which offers to approve, customize the message to be a good fit for your readers, and click done. You earn money from tweeting – easy peasy.
  • Technorati: Fill out the form on the Technorati site to apply to work with them on sponsored posts and other writing projects. They are really easy to work with – they set super clear standards, so you can deliver the results they want. And they compensate very fairly. I just started working with them and am very pleased.
  • Monetize Your Blog: This is a post I wrote for the Blogathon last year, with 5 ways to monetize your blog. They’re all things you can implement right away as a new blogger – and some might still be helpful even if you’re a more established blogger too.

Blogging Tools and tips

  • Twitter tip: This post from Social Media Examiner {one of my fave newsletters} is filled with tips on how to creatively use embedded tweets in your posts. I didn’t even know you could do most of these – and they’re all really easy, even if you’re a bit tech challenged like me.
  • Pinterest: BlogHer is doing a set of Master Classes on Pinterest best practices. This is the first one, and the video has a lot of smart tips for looking at Pinterest through a marketing and brand perspective.
  • Blog Promotion: Love some of the ideas here – 32 Experts Share Their Best Blog Promotion Tips. Not only will you learn a ton of good stuff, but you’ll find some awesome new people and sites to follow.
  • Legal Stuff: This is something we don’t always think a lot about… But often rolls around in the back of your mind at times – 6 ways enterpreneurship could leave you needing a lawyer. It’s better to plan for problems in advance than be scrambling to look for help when you need it.
  • Pinterest ebook kit: Get an ebook with tips on how to go viral on Pinterest, plus three free collage templates to help you make more “pinnable” photos, from HowDoesShe.com, for only $3.99 with coupon code PINHDS. {This is not an affiliate link.}
  • Hometalk: This is a really fun site where you can share your DIY projects, connect with other creative types, get cool ideas, and ask questions to get answers from the pros. You can link up your blog and social media, and share your fave project posts. They also sometimes have blogging projects you can join too! Join today, and connect with me here: Meagan Paullin on Hometalk.
  • Ismyblogworking.com: This is a SUPER helpful site. You know those times where you’re blog doesn’t seem to be working, but you wonder if it’s just you – your browser, your computer, just a limited time glitch? Instead of asking around and waiting for people to check it for you, visit ismyblogworking.com, enter your link, and it’ll tell you if it’s working or not, how long it takes to load, and more.

Giveaways, Linkys and Events

  • Free Giveaway: 20 bloggers needed to promote a Google Nexus 4 (8GB) phone as well as 3 months of “Unlimited Everything” service from GIV Mobile worth $449.99. In return you will receive 1 social media link on the form. Starts  9/23-7.
  • Giveaway Promotion: If you run regular giveaways – or even coupons and deals – add your blog to Giveaway Scout. All you have to do is add their link to your sidebar – in return, they’ll list your giveaways on their site, send them out in their newsletters, and they’ll sometimes get posted on their widgets that appear across a network of other blogs. I just signed my blog back up again, since I’ll probably be running more giveaways through the holidays, and it used to bring me a lot of traffic :)
  • Mom Club Linky: I love this link up from Crystal & Co – share your best mommy solutions, things like recipes, DIY, crafts, tips, and more. I get great traffic from her and have been featured a couple of times.
  • Conquer Summit: This was an awesome live event earlier today – I was lucky enough to have time to catch most if as it happened this morning. Very inspiring and super motivating! For 24 hours you can access the recording here: Conquer Summit recap. {24 hours from today, 9/17/2013} – You can also join the amazing Conquer Club with me, and get a discount on your membership by using this code for the next 24 hours: COFOUNDER – to get all of the materials for $147. You also get a free trial membership to the the club. This isn’t any type of referral or affiliate link. I just loved this today, and was excited about signing up :) Read some of the comments on Twitter at #ConquerClub to see what other people thought about it today.
