Top 10 Resources for Creative and DIY Bloggers

LOVE this graphic! I so need to get a print of this to hang over my desk in my office. {photo credit: Mike Licht, NotionsCapital.com via photopin cc.} I used to be crazy-crafty. Since I’ve started my blog here, I’ve lost a lot of the time I used to have to create… Which is SUCH a bummer. But, as my hard work on this site, and my other freelance work is finally starting to pay off, I’m able to re-focus this year, and start blogging about my passions again. So look forward to some fun projects featured this year!

  • 1. Martha’s Circle: Apply to be a member of Martha’s Circle - Yep, that Martha. Fill out their form, and they’ll review your site to see if you’re a good fit. They offer advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
  • 2. Good Reads: This is a really great list of books you can check out – {a few of which I’ve read, and adore} – to help you build your creative business - blog, photography, Etsy shop, web design, and more. Love it.
  • 3. Photos: If you do a Wordless Wednesday post to show off your favorite photo of the week, link it up on Confessions of an Overworked Mom’s weekly linky that opens each Wednesday.
  • 4. Selling Digital Files: There is a super cool, totally free WordPress plugin to allow you to sell and profit from your digital files – photos, videos, PDF’s and more. Learn more about the Sell Media plugin.
  • 5. Mommy Solutions: This is my favorite linky each week, and when I link up early, I get quite a bit of traffic from it. {Plus, I always find good stuff to check out for myself.} Share your best tips, recipes, and homemaking solutions on Crystal & Co today.
  • 6. HomeTalk: Because we all need another social network to join, right? Lol. But - HomeTalk is a pretty cool place to find new ideas to inspire you, share your own projects, ask questions, and connect with cool peeps. If you set up your account as a blogger, people can search by zip code or name to connect with you that way too. {And you can link to your blog, see my profile here.}
  • 7. Projects: Share your favorite project posts of the year! Tator Tots & Jello has a linky to share your fave project, and one winner will be drawn via Random.org this weekend. Then post to A Bowl Full of Lemons too, to share a great creation from 2012, and check out some fun inspiration.
  • 8. Be Featured: Do you have a super smart organizing tip, an easy recipe, or a cool DIY project to share? Submit it on Just Trying to Save Money, and she’ll be featuring them on her site.
  • 9. List of Linkys: This is awesome – it’s a big list of creative linkys you can submit your posts to, broken down by day of the week. This is an awesome way to build up your calendar for the new year, and get more consistent with linking up to some good sites.
  • 10: SEO: Great post with simple to understand, totally do-able SEO tips – Read Creative Blogs & SEO: 3 Simple Tips. Loved this one.
